Great detail sander
I received this sander a couple of weeks ago and I love it. I build wood model automobiles and needed sander that can reach where the 1" bench top sander cannot reach. I also found it useful for shaping curves on the wood models. It took me a while to get the vacuum adapter in. When it finally came I tried to adapt my 1-1/4" flexible vacuum hose to it, but it pulled the adapter out due to its weight. I decided to find a lighter hose that would fit the sander. The Makita hoses were way too expensive so I was looking for a cheap alternative.I order a 1 inch hose on Amazon and was waiting for it to arrive. Last night as I was getting ready to put on my CPAP mask I thought to myself "I wonder if that CPAP hose would fit the sander?" I tried it this morning and it fits like a glove! It's very light and has rubber fittings on both ends. The one end fit over the vacuum adapter on the sander perfectly. The other end fit nicely inside the 1-1/4" vacuum hose end. I tried using it and it works really well. It's flexible and light.Generic CPAP hoses are cheap to buy. I thought you would appreciate knowing my FIND.

The sanding belt never slipped once
If you are installing steel doors and commercial hardware, this is a must have tool. It easily grinds stainless steel strikes and the top or bottom edge of a steel door. I was able to easily and efficiently make adjustments on the 120 doors and strikes we installed.

Do it!
This is my favorite Makita battery tool. Have a few of the plug in ones and went ahead and drank the cool aide and bought this one. If your on the fence on this tool just proceed to check out. This thing is worth the money.

Super useful
This tool is incredibly useful to have next to you when doing almost any kind of woodworking - makes it so easy to make minor adjustments in fitting rather than running back to a saw or even using a hand plane.

Great tool
Good tool but it only accepts 21 inch belt size where as 18 inch sizes are more commonly found on other professional belt sanders. I’m in the collision repair business and material distributors only carry 18 inch size. If this tool would accept 18 inch size it would be great. Don’t know why makita has to be different. It’s BS
