Phone’s ‘automatic callback’ feature is terrible, and car key difficult to use
I’m really disappointed with this product, for a couple main reasons. Firstly, the ‘automatic callback’ feature on the phone means that after pressing any button on the phone, each time, it rings a second later, with a loud and irritating ring that goes on quite a while. If you press a key to interrupt it, it then happens again a second later. The only way to stop it is to let it finish ringing and then avoid pressing any buttons - so basically it cannot be played with without that happening after every button press, which I find ridiculous, and I’ve had to remove the batteries.Secondly, the key of the car key doesn’t flip out just by simply pressing a button as indicated - pressing the button once just makes a noise. You then have to press it again but much harder to get the key to flip out - essentially pressing it, and then keeping your finger on it and pushing it down further. It’s very difficult to show a 16-month-old that you have to push a button down further to get it to work. She’s very smart so I hope she will be able to figure it out but she has so far not been very interested in it because each time she presses it, it just makes a noise. The only way she can enjoy it currently is to put the key back down each time I make it flip out, but obviously it’d be nice if she could do it herself. When it was in the box, I thought the key wasn’t flipping out when pressing the button because it was tied into the packaging or something, so I didn’t find this out until after removing it from the packaging, and I would have returned it if I had known this was how it works.I also feel the phone is too loud considering a child may hold it to their ear. The packaging says it is only loud while in ‘Try me’ mode and that it’s quieter once the tab is removed, but it doesn’t seem much quieter. It wouldn’t be as much of a problem if the automatic callback feature didn’t mean it could randomly ring after she places it at her ear, and the ringing is the loudest aspect. The remote control is good however, but I would have preferred it if there was a mode in which numbers were spoken when pressing the relevant number buttons, rather than only sound effects.
