Very secure 8mm fixing I used in fitting a new window

These screws and rawplugs worked perfectly to secure a door frame which was loosening, due to continuous banging as a result of the strong spring action of the door, which was a fire door.

I used these to secure a 2in door post to external brickwork for a side gate. The post was fixed near an external corner, the brickwork was not in the best condition and I did not want to blow the bricks. So I carefully drilled 8mm holes but used the hammer action sparingly. The plugs slid home easily enough. However the screws required too much force, in my opinion, to drive right home. Rather than forcing them or openning up the holes, I withdrew the screws and cut about 10mm off the end of each screw. I'm not sure if this is a design fault or due to debris in the hole. If the latter, I'd have thought the plugs would not have driven home as easily as they did. The end result was satisfactory.

Used a good few of these now and never had an issue.Decent for heavy duty use.

Shocking quality, screws appear to be made of cheese, used 6 of them and 5 of the screws snapped when being tightened. Buyer be warned!!!

Unfortunately I drilled the hole to big M8, if you use these make sure you have an interference fit or they will just spin, remember you can always drill a bigger hole.
