It is a well made, sturdy checker board & good looking! My husband & grand children are having fun playing against each other! And I appreciate the design to keep track of the playing pieces with the built in checker holder.

I amit I contempated getting a run-of-the mill cardboard checkers set before purchasing this game for my young grandsons, ages 6 and 8. It is a little pricey. I am so glad I went with this wooden set for them to learn this classic game. It is very sturdy with a smooth finish and the paint is bright and detailed. I did put an extra coat of wax on the board and playing pieces because that is just me but not because it is not necessary. I particularly like the areas to store the checkers at each end. I enjoy watching the boys planning and plotting their strategies as they compete to win. It makes me smile when I hear them name their "team" and use soccer terms to discuss their moves. We just received this game recently and it has already become a favorite activity after dinner before they wind down in the evening.

This Solid Wood Red and Black Checkers Board is like a piece of furniture on display in our living room! It is exactly what I've been looking for, for years! It is the perfect size for our whole family and guests to enjoy this fun game. I have the fondest memories of playing this with my grandpa and want to share the same with my grandchildren! The quality of the pieces and the design of the board is extremely functional for keeping the checkers in their designated place.

This is a nice set that will be used for years. I like the checker storage on the board. Makes for ease of containment and at a glance can see that none are missing. Simple flat storage due to build. Wanted a wooden board and red and black checkers. This is a great idea to store checkers on board. The only thing I can think of to perfect it would be to add an extra checker in each color. The wooden board is of nice weight, size and quality. Very pleased. Recommend set to anyone. This game is allowing me to interact with grandchildren and learn more about their lives. Have already been asked by two such children why we haven't done this before. Great set. Made to last for years. The design is perfect. Thank you.
