Great pumper but go to YouTube for install “How-to” instructions are terrible. Also my wheel is stock and it wouldn’t close, either take it off or get an extender. Other than that it’s a solid sturdy pumper.

Can’t beat the price on this well built bumper. Heavy duty , the powder coating is exceptional snd the packaging is a outstanding thought out process that protects every inch of the bumper . Event the box is thick material anyone that has purchase an item with this weight will know you have seen some nasty non caring shipping pack.Con: the post for the carrier is huge tall if your thinking of a replacement bumper a you don’t want to spend the extra for the new carrier snd your keeping a different make .

Quality was good, and it was shipped with lots of good quality packaging which got it here safely.Do keep in mind, this is for box 1 of 2; some of the hardware and swingarm, etc comes in box 2 of 2 with the tire carrier swing arm.Instructions were god-awful, even contradicting themselves in some instances. Most of the bolts, washers, and nuts came in one giant bag all together, which made it hard to differentiate what went where. Additionally, there were a ton left over, which is appreciated, but also a little confusing.The terrible instructions unquestionably added time to the install. I tried calling the number on the instructions, and gave up after being on hold for 45 minutes.All that being said, it is good quality and almost exactly what I was looking for.

I have had two jk's. My first had a shrockworks rear bumper with spare tire carrier (very expensive) My second jk, i decided on the smitybuilt. Installation was easy. The bumper itself has a good design, solid and allows for great approach angles. Its flaw is the sparetire carrier. poor latch design. They have made some improvements, however just not good enough, They really need to scratch the latch design and start over. the latch will open if you plan on driving on bumpy roads. And yes it does rattle.

Purchased this bumper in addition to the XRC Tire Carrier and I love the rough and rugged look of it. I was running it on my 2013 JK with stock suspension and 33in tires. As with any armor, it ads a significant amount of weight to the body and when I had my back loaded with gear or people, it would bottom out the suspension when going over larger bumps. Suggest some sort of lift to accommodate the additional weight.Install directions were for the wrong model and referenced drilling holes in the frame in order to install... I was able to complete the install without having to drill any holes. Unclear directions coupled with a few missing nuts/washers made the install much more time consuming than originally anticipated. 100% a two person job, and be prepared to take a trip to the hardware store in the event that you are missing anything.Aside from the install, I am happy with the look of it and I have not had any issues with the tailgate swinging open or rattling against the frame or body as some have mentioned.
