Probably for YouTubers
Costed less than some video games. I haven't tried to make anything by it yet but it's fun to look at the user interface. Can be a toy for grownups. It has green screen replacement too ( I think it's called chromakey. I think I spell it wrong. ) I plan to use Photoshop's AI on it frame by frame for some effects but I don't know if it works until I try. It can make your clips look vintage to fake documentaries.

Nice all around software - a solid video editing performer - plus it works great!
Overall: Recommended! Great software product for getting started with video editing. There are lots of options these days and this seems like a good one for beginners. Not overwhelming and easy enough to use. Cheers

Similar to Other brand video editing Tools.
I have a couple of other video editors, as I do youtube videos sometimes for my channel under a different name. I was already familiar with the BORISfx, as I have some of his tools. And I had heard of the MAGIX brand, before for other imaging things. So, it was worth the price to try it out. It comes with a basic set up and a few filters, as well as the BORISfx filter/particles. It has all the regular things such as transitions and adding voiceover, music and so on. It's a good start if you don't know where to start, or if you are wanting something that is on your computer, and that you aren't just renting online.

Meh
UI/UX is not great. Never used this suite before, found it to be hiding a lot of options behind context sensitive menus. Sometimes it feels like it's on the right path but then something that should be simple is done in a very round-about way.Lots of crashes for the one project I made. Nothing crazy demanding on my end but was running into issues like memory faults. Poor programming practices. Really can't recommend this, I've used better free software.

Learning curve, then it crash...
All I wanted to do is to blur the face, but I wasn't able to find the capability to do that.Yes it can edit videos but all the effect and transition feels like a product that was from the 2000, but not 2024 video editing.I would say if you want to do a long term video editor or YouTuber I would suggest pick up a newer video editing software instead of this one. However, if you just need a quick merge split editing, then this is somewhat useful because it support all kind of video file type, and is fast to perform simple task.Anything require complex transition or slow mode speed, it will crash on you which it did on me.

Some differences from tradition NLEs. Might be more suitable for the consumer market.
It has a fast load time with a meaningful project settings window. You select popular settings including social media, HD, UHD, etc. Each setting has a sub setting for a specific DPI or aspect ratio. There are too many features to list here, but I found most of them useful. The layout is standard with most NLE software. Most other windows are popups, like audio mixer, trimmer, etc.I've been used to track order being top to bottom with almost every editor I've used in the past. In timeline mode, Movie Studio uses a reverse track order, stacking video with higher number tracks. You also cannot reorder tracks. Scrolling the mouse shuttles the timeline and doesn't scroll the tracks up and down. I do like the contextual windows for effects. Clicking a track or clip will show the effects applied to that track in a separate timeline stack. The program will take some getting used to if you have experience with other NLEs. I'm still struggling with building and navigating tracks in timeline mode however. I feel the software is designed more for the consumer market than professional users.
