Great for Grandson who is finishing his Private Pilot certification. Just like it helped me years ago, this manual is super informative and most certainly does prepare one for their Private Pilot written exam.If you can read and memorize, there is NO reason to fail this written exam. All the questions and answers are given for your review and memorization.Just be certain that when you order this manual that it was written within a few years of your test date. The first one I ordered was already 14 years old and probably questions out of date. I had to return it due to this factor.This one was great being that it was written only 4 years ago. My Grandson says THANK YOU!

With the excitement of my upcoming AKL (Airmen Knowledge Test) also known as written test I've purchased at least 6 different study guides of this sort. Some of them mixed all the questions together for Balloon, Glider, Powered Parachute type of license questions...which I didn't like...I really like this book especially compared to ASA study guide because this one grouped all PPL for Airplane questions together rather than mixing them with the questions belong to other type of license tests.I studied this only for 2 days and passed my knowledge test. It is designed more than just a study guide but rather a teaching tool. The answers to the questions are short yet descriptive enough for a student pilot to learn many subjects with ease.I am not sure if this is "the best" between all but it was "the best" one between the ones I've had purchased.I recommend it...

I’m using this as a last round of studying after spending time with the PHAK, AFH, and Sporty’s private pilot course. The questions are familiar if you’ve been through the Sporty’s course because they come from the same bank. What you get in addition is short summaries of the info in advance of each section of questions.I encourage you to use this as a supplement to your full course of study, particularly in the final week before the written exam. To be honest, I am sure you could ace the test using only this book, but your knowledge will be a little less rich than it could be if you use the PHAK and AFH as well.

This book was one of a kind, and I could not have gotten my license without it. I never used my FAR/AIM, but simply referred to this book to pass the test. The book is covers all aspects of the test, and provides logical and helpful insight as to how to come about the answer. I took my test and saw at least 65% of the questions already directly from the book, as well as another 15-20% of questions with a very minimal change in wording. If you know this book be confident because you are undoubtedly going to pass your test.

Book is in great condition almost new. The book's format, printing & questions and ans. are much better than the 2017 ASA Test guide I paid $20.00 for and I can't send it back to ASA. I would rather study from an older book, this one is 2005, than from a book like the ASA Test Guide that's not pleasing to my eye.

The study guide contains just about every question there is on the written. If you know everything on the study guide, you'll know almost everything there is to know on the test. I supplemented the regular Jepp book, FAR/AIM, and this test guide and I got 2 incorrect on the test. Both of the questions I got wrong are actually in the test guide and I would have gotten them correct if I would have remembered the right answer. Highly recommend this book to study for the written.
