Very easy set up

This was supposed to be a great Christmas gift… but whoever put this scanner as a “digital scanner” was wrong this is not a digital scanner no wonder why this thing has not worked since it has been set up. You should really list that this is an ANALOG scanner. Thanks for taking my money and not giving me what i was under the impression of buying.

The hardest thing is programming the unit

I recently ordered this radio and was very impressed with it until the radio started shutting off by itself while scanning banks or in service scan. The display would go dark but the blue RX light would be illuminated. It would power back on after a second with a little speaker noise when it did. In 48 hours it did this three times. Once it cycled on and off twice during one event.I didn't want to begin a new purchase with repairs and down time so I returned it. Except for the anomalous events I was very impressed with the radio. It was fairly easy to program manually. I don't have a Windows computer (Linux) but if you want to take full advantage of this units capabilities you would want a PC interface. You also need a Windows machine to do firmware updates. I know there are options (Wine, PlayOnLinux, Etc) but have not evaluated their feasibility or reliability.

great product , easy to set up

advertised as digital scanner but it is ANALOG only. Will not work with police frequency in this areaas they are all digital. I tried for six months to make this work, finally talked to a radio technicianwho told me the truth. Wish I could send it back but too late now. Never believe what's printed.

I bought this scanner to replace my bct15x for future proof for nxdn railroad switch works like a charm easy to program got it set up and running in less than 15mins all these negative reviews are because people do not know how to read "fine print" and know what this unit is for frequency wise.This scanner been working fantastic for me and also planning on upgrading my handheld to uniden 160dn.
