Pleasantly surprised
Was kind of on the fence about getting this as it only has 2 ratings, And the other version with a different brand name has mixed reviews. I am happy I bought it, It works perfectly. I have it attached to an Audio Technia 2040 mic with a AuxLink XLR cable going to a Focusrite Scarlett Solo 4th gen, The Scarlett didn't have enough gain to properly power the mic and the output was very low, Even cranked to the max. With this, It gave it all the oomph it needs to get a good sound. There IS some background noise with this, But I also have a SteelSeries Arctis Nova Pro wireless headset that has the GG software and that has a AI option to reduce the background noise and with those combined this is perfect. Just be prepared to have something to help reduce the background noise. But for $23, You can't expect perfection, And this is worth the price.

Good deal on a relatively simple microphone accessory.
Does the job perfectly well without the double or triple cost you'd pay for the common boosters if you search the internet for peoples' recommendations. This is one of those "does what it says on the box and nothing less, nothing more" sort of products. I've used it for a couple different dynamic microphones, and it boosts their output nicely, no ugly noise or anything that my ears can detect.

This product is trash ! Don't buy
Once plugged in, there was static noises and I couldn't even hear myself recording. Worst pre amp ever.

Boost, yes. Noise cancelling, no.
This device is exactly what one needs to boost signal. However, I hoped it would offer noise reduction but it didn't. Overall, I'm NOT complaining and I do like this preamp.

Real review from a real owner!
I got this pre-amp delivered on my day off so had nearly the whole day to mess with it. My audio interface is a Presonus Audiobox ione and my mic is a Maono PD100. My studio monitors are Presonus Eris 4.5 (2017 models) and headphones are Sennheiser 280's. So pretty decent home setup without breaking the bank. The piece of the puzzle I never got was this mic preamp which for my mic and interface I've come to find is pretty necessary. Unless you have the mic almost in your mouth and gain maxed out, most sub $100 audio interfaces dont have enough juice to drive dynamic mics. I figured I would start with a cheaper one and go from there. This preamp was certainly cheap. I paid about $24. There were a lot of these in-line barrel style ones with bad reviews. This particular one only had three reviews total but all three were 5 stars and seemed like real customers so I went for it.Long story short, it's surprisingly good! And even comes with 2 nice XLR patch cables. Sound quality is darn near perfect with very, very little added noise. I had to really try to hear for it after cranking the gain way up. This one, unlike some of the other identical looking ones from different sellers, has zero issues with cable fitment. Nice tight connections. I now set my mic gain on the interface to about 80% instead of max and it achieves my desired mic volume with about 4-5 inches between the mic and my mouth. The 28dB boost this claims to have seem legit based on some tests I ran in OBS. I have it mounted underneath my desk with some double sided foam tape and cable clips. Highly recommend mounted it out of the way where you won't bump it becuse it will pick up vibration very easily. Also make sure your preamp has 48v phantom power. This preamp uses it to be powered.Definitely recommend this one!

Works
Works like a charm on a Fender Rhodes. Gives it some serious beef. I wish it were smaller, but they all seem this size and it comes with short two xlrs.

Well made amplifier
This is a well made mic pre-amp. no detectable noise is added to the circuit. Vocals are strengthened, sound good. Be sure to use the short XLR cables that come with the pre-amp. They fit tighter in the pre-amp than the regular mic cables I have. The regular cables were loose in the pre-amp resulting in noise and popping when bumped.

Broke in a few months
I bought one of these back in April, thought it was good and bought a second one in May. There are two problems. One, if you have to move your mic around at all, it cause massive feedback. And two, one of them, I'm not sure which but it doesn't matter because it's only September, broke. I cannot recommend this.
