Defective Device, Unsuccessful Support Experience - Seeking Resolution
Rating: 1/5I purchased a Lenovo device from Amazon, which has turned out to be a disappointing experience. Despite the hardware being in good condition, the device froze during an update and has been unusable since (photo attached).*Unsuccessful Support Experience:*I've contacted both Amazon and Lenovo support multiple times, but unfortunately, no meaningful assistance has been provided. The replacement period expired on [Date], and now Amazon seems to have washed their hands off the issue.*Seeking Action:*I request Amazon to take immediate action and provide a suitable resolution, considering the device's warranty period had barely lapsed. I expect:1. Replacement or refund2. Expedited support to resolve the issue*Amazon, please take note:* Your customers deserve better. I hope you'll take necessary steps to address this issue and prevent similar experiences for others.*Update:* I'll update this review based on Amazon's response and resolutionUpdate: November 7thI'm still without a functioning machine, it's almost a month since the purchase . The seller only dispatched the hard drive today, after holding onto it for 7 days, and only doing so after I followed up repeatedly to prompt action. According to the tracking information, I won't receive it until November 14th.The lack of urgency and communication from the seller is quite frustrating.*Other customers, beware:* Check your device's warranty and support options before purchasing.Waiting for a prompt response and resolution, Amazon!

Good performance, RAM and SSD for the price, wifi dongle included is crap
I got this a month ago, started using it as my home server with a Linux server on it, I've had no issues, the insides were clean, there is an empty M.2 NVMe slot to add an SSD down the line but I feel the 512GB SSD is adequate, not a reputed company so keep backups but it's fine for most applications given the rest of the systemThe wifi dongle provided however is absolute crap and borderline manufactured e-waste, buy a separate, better 5Ghz wifi dongle if you plan on using it with wifi but there is a 1 Gigabit Ethernet port of you don't plan toWill update if it stops working for any reason whatsoever

Refurbished Lenovo M720q Tiny Review: Good Performance but Restricted Upgrades and Quality Issues
The media could not be loaded. I bought this refurbished Lenovo M720q tiny from Amazon India(Seller - IT Refurb India, Mumbai), I saw there is a Sticker of Warranty for not opening the Mini PC. To confirm this I contacted the seller, and they said, they don't allow the user to upgrade, or if the user does open the PC, it's not the seller's risk, they will void the 6-month Seller warranty. Anyway, I opened the Mini PC to inspect the internal components. So, coming to the specs of the PC:Processor: i5 8500T (in Amazon it is listed as i5-8400T).Storage: 512 GB Sata SSD of Master (haven’t heard of this brand before) & 1 unoccupied M.2 Slot, it supports NVME only, it doesn’t support M.2 SATA (this I can confirm as I have tried both of those SSDs).RAM Configuration: 2 RAM slots, 1 occupied with 2666Mhz DDR4 RAM of Skhynix (though they installed a Sticker of Samsung above the RAM stick), 1 free.Available Slots:1 HDMI, 1 DP port, 1 VGA port, 1 type C port, and one USB 3.0 (5 Gbps) port in front, Headphone in/out port in front,4 USB 3.0 ports in the back (2 of them are 5 Gbps and other 2 are 10 Gbps).I want to buy this PC to dual boot Windows and MACOS (hackintosh), I installed Hackintosh in the SATA SSD, so the performance of that is a little bit slow.I removed the whole chassis, only one screw you need to remove to get inside the machine, it is having one slot for an internal wifi card, but the seller is not shipping the machine with an internal wifi card, the seller shipped a very cheap external wifi dongle which just grabs about 20-30 Mbps, I have a 100 Mbps connection.Apart from that there is an empty PCIE Slot for low-profile graphics card like XFX RX6400, to install that first you need to remove the internal SATA SSD, and below that SSD there is this slot. To make use of that card, you will need a PCIE RISER as well, to keep everything inside the chassis, otherwise you can’t make the top chassis go back to close position. They shipped one HDMI to VGA converter cable as well, which is no use to me maybe for some it can be useful.Initial impression (2 days of usage):1. They should give the user the flexibility to install their SSD rather than restricting to use their cheap SATA SSD, that too of an unknown Chinese brand.2. They can install the RAM to Slot 1 before sending it to the buyer, instead of installing it in Slot 2 (small thing but should be careful).3. They also used a SKHYNIX brand RAM and installed a SAMSUNG sticker above the RAM which is cheating in my frank opinion.Caution: They are providing a 64 GB pen drive/ extended warranty for a 5-star review on Amazon. When I asked about it, they said they are providing a 64GB pen drive right now (so be aware of the other 5-star reviews).Performance is decent right now, after installing a few programs, the PC lagged in when it was Windows 11. Right now, I am using Windows 10 for better performance. In Windows 10 the performance is better. Also, when I disassembled the PC, I reapplied the Processor with my own Thermal paste even though their thermal paste seemed new to me I was not sure what kind of thermal paste they were using.I am attaching the pictures of the inside of the disassembled PC and a video of dual booting of Windows and Mac.I will update this review in the future if there are any more issues I find in the future.Edit: After 14 Days of usage:1. Since my warranty is already void, I went ahead and installed a NVME drive with Windows 10 on it. Later, I installed Windows 11 Pro in my NVME drive, the performance is good. There is no issue in performance. When the PC came with Windows 11 installed it was on that Crappy Master brand SSD, I think that was the issue for the laggy performance. If you have the budget go for at least a 256GB NVME M2 SSD and install the Windows there once your warranty period is over. You may get less performance in the internal SATA SSD.2. There is no such issue in performance in daily usage, with 16GB ram you can run few Chrome tabs with software like Photoshop. Don't expect too much also, this PC is not for video editing purpose. You can do good Photo editing, document editing and web browsing.3. After buying this system, run a full system diagnostic by pressing F10 key when Lenovo logo comes up. This is important, as you will know if any component is not working properly. I ran the tests and all came good, no issues found.4. To install Windows 10/11 Pro in a different drive (eg: NVME drive), just install Windows 10/11 Pro edition, it will automatically get activated as the system has OEM product key, no extra setting to do there.Edit: After 1 month of usage:1. Overall performance is good, the internal SSD is not good. Try to remove that and install windows in a NVME drive.2. I have added another 16 GB RAM (total 32 GB now). I have pushed the system with some heavy Photoshop files, it works without any issue. I have seen the RAM usage go upto 22-23 GB with heavy photoshop usage. You can use 16 GB DDR4 2666Mhz sodimm RAM to fill the empty slot.3. I have tried to use windows in my 4k TV, it works but I won't recommend it, as it's response was a bit slow. Better to stick with 1080p or 1440p display.4. I removed the Master Brand SSD. My hackintosh build was on that SATA SSD, it was taking too much time to start and felt it was getting slower day-by-day, I removed the hackintosh build as well. In the SATA SSD slot, I installed another old 2.5 inch HDD for storage. Right now, I am running Windows 11 only. Boot time is around 18-20 seconds.5. I ordered and installed it's original Wifi Antenna and a Intel 7265NGW wifi card. It costed me around ₹1,600. It took around 2 weeks to deliver to my place cz I imported it from China. I have searched a lot but couldn't find the original Wifi Antenna that works perfectly with Lenovo M720q Tiny. It gives me full speed even from 2 rooms from the router. With 5G hotspot, it goes max around 500-600 mbps.Feel free to ask any questions in the Question section above the Review section, if you have any.
