this switched worked perfectly to replace the switch on my Hampton Bay 3 speed ceiling fan. I kept the original, and matched the position of the wires on the new one with old one, as the colors do not match.

Only two speeds worked on three speed fan
First off, the switch did not come with any instructions. Not a deal killer except the wire colors of the switch do not match the wire colors on the fan (except the black live wire). Still not that big of deal since you can make a note of which fan wires go in which numbered slot and adjust accordingly. It also didn’t come with any wire nuts which I had to have for my Hunter fan since the new switch has non removable wires installed. The real deal killer is that once it was installed, my 3 speed fan now only has two speeds. One speed is high, the other two are the same - low speed. I have a good working knowledge of electrical wiring and wired it correctly in spite of the lack of instructions and non matching wire colors. I’ll leave it in the fan for now because at least I can turn the fan off, but I’ll be buying a different brand of switch that hopefully will allow all three speeds worked to work. My advice is to purchase a different brand.

Replacement Switch for Ceiling Fan
This replacement part is the best and easiest one to install. It took about 15 minutes. I would recommend this over any hardware store.
