NRSVue, Holy Bible with Apocrypha, Journal Edition, Cloth over Board, Cream, Comfort Print

The first thing that will strike you is how pretty and thick this Bible is. The cloth on board feels great, and the paper quality is good but NOT great. Highlighters will bleed through, and any pressure with your writing instrument will imprint through ten other pages. The color of the off-white paper is nice, though, and it does well in the sunlight. Average finger moisture will curl and indent the pages, so be aware. The type is by 2K Denmark and is phenomenal, as always. It's a paste-down Bible, but it has a sewn binding. It lays flat, and the black ribbon reaches Genesis 1 and Revelation 22. There are no maps, references or Concordance, just translator footnotes. There are many pages in the back of the Bible dedicated to notetaking. There is ample notetaking space within the text, too. It contains all Apocryphal books from the various Christian traditions, which is commendable. The translation is readable and good, but there are academic concerns over 1 Tim. 1:10 and 1 Cor. 6:9 renderings. Overall, it's a fantastic Bible, printed and bound in China, and is much higher in quality than the NRSVue made in India. I hope they stick to the Chinese production because the Indian NRSVue from the first printings had a plethora of quality control issues. 10/10 would buy it again, especially if it's on sale.- Edit to those concerned about the Apocrypha. This Bible contains the accepted apocryphal books of the Christian scriptures in Nicean (AD 325) traditions. If you want more esoteric apocryphal books that are accepted by extinct or non-Nicean "Christian" traditions, like the Gnostics, then this is not for you.

Absolutely love this Bible. It lays completely flat from Genesis 1 on, which I love. The outside it’s a beautiful cloth with raised imprinted design. Each page is thick so very little bleeding through the pages and a nice sport for notes on every single page.

If you were looking for something that is for the Catholic people or the protestant, this Bible is for you. It has more books in it. Then what most protestants have theirs? But it's a nice history because it's all in the old testament, so it's Easy read and my granddaughters like it for Bible study.

So they picked and closed which books from the Apocrypha they decided to add to this Bible this is very miss leading in the description as I only bought this Bible for the full Apocrypha which it is missing. I know cause I have the Apocrypha that was printed outside the Bible.It is missing 5 books from the Apocrypha !! Which are as important as all the others. The most important is Enoch which is missing. Also came with something sticky on the pages and wasn't in the sleeve the right way.
