Of course, it is a subjective choice by the author but is a joy to hold, look at and read. There is a full description of each paining, a comment by a person of note and a biography of the artist. Additionally, the book contains useful and essential glossaries of artistic terms linked to the relevant work, and artistic movements. It is so pleasurable, accessible and readable; an ideal book for a beginner like myself or anyone who wants to better understand paintings.
