Outstanding cartridge applicator gun at a decent price.
I've used a fair few of the cheap plastic cartidge applicator guns and they've been barely OK.The problem with the cheaper guns is the irregularity of the amount coming out when the trigger is pulled.I decided to splash out a bit and buy a decent one.Chalk and cheese, no comparison, this one is really solidly built, smooth when used and predictable amount expressed from cartridge. I'm glazing glass in a greenhouse and need reliability. This is it.

Worth the extra expense even for DIYer
As is always the way I could not my larger sealant gun and the EVO-STIK GRIPFILL at 350ml would not fit the standard cheap version everyone has kicking about.I decided to get this sealant gun as it is from a well know brand and reviews suggested it was heavy duty. For DIY it seemed over the top but just about affordable. It has a solid quality frame, no sharp edges, mixed paint and stainless finish, feels heavy in the hand and the design allows for the cartridges of all sizes to stay in place even when the plunger is fully retracted. There is a nozzle unblocking pin inside the handle that is about 10cm long. It swings out but is not removable so you will need to remove the cartridge to use it instead.Trigger press to flow rate is predictable making it just that little bit easier to apply sealant more accurately. For viscous adhesives cheaper guns can feel like you are squeezing them so hard they will break at any moment but that is not the case with the Everbuild Power Pro Heavy Duty Applicator Gun. I honestly doubt anyone could break this under normal usage as each component looks over engineered.I would say that this would be a good entry to medium range gun for a trades person and a high end gun for a DIYer since it fits all common cartridges, is only £10 more than an entry level model and will likely last for life. You might as well treat yourself to a quality tool.

Best caulk/sealant gun I've had
This is just simply the best caulk/sealant gun I've had. First impressions are this looks very sturdy & well built, and I think in use it lives up to that (I did see the pictures of a rusty shaft in one review, so I wonder how this will stand up if left loaded with part used acetoxy cure silicone sealants). It's very easy to load, with a frame design that only has one side fully open it'll support the cartridge underneath rather than having to be held in place to slide the plunger in.In use, this has been perfect. The trigger action is very smooth and is pretty responsive; it doesn't need as much pressure to use as many cheap or mid range guns. You can quickly release the pressure with the large release catch/trigger that's well positioned for quick access for your thumb. The ability to rotate the barrel also helps you more easily adjust to the position you need the gun & nozzle in.

Expensive but so good I wish I had bought it before
I put off buying this thinking that how can you improve on such a simple design and the cheap ones should be just as good but with aching hands, I finally bought this and imediately wished I had done so much earlier. The pull is so much more powerful, comfortable and easier than the cheap versions making silicone work much less of a chore. The rotating cartidge holder while seeming like a gimick is in fact very useful as you can adjust the position of the head easily without loosing pressure and never worry about the cartride bending out. Seems well built and has lasted my use for the last 6 months.

Just buy it!
I’m not a trades’ person, just a quiet homeowner that’s trying to keep the house in good condition, which means I only use the sealant gun ‘once every blue moon’! But like any other tool, you want it to perform well when you need it!I had 2 of the DIY stores’ own brands’ guns and I had nothing but trouble every single time I used either of them. Decided to put them in the bin before tackling a new project when I remembered how horrible they performed last time I needed them, looked at Amazon as I’ve had enough of local DIY stores where you’re forced to buy what’s in stock, not what you want! And I couldn’t have been happier with the result of this gun. It’s very solid, very easy to use and does not cause your hand to feel paralysed for days after using it. The flow of the sealant cartridge will always depend on the material you’re using obviously (How much overflow and how ‘responsive’ the flow is), but the gun itself is very comfortable to use and very easy to rotate the cartridge to allow the angle of the nozzle to change.Price is much cheaper than what DIY stores sell it for, if they had it in stock!Buy it, don’t even think about it! It will live up to your expectations and will make your life easier! You won’t regret it! Specially if you’re a trades person that needs it to make a living!

Robust and easy to use
I have several rubbish mastic guns, on several the pusher disc has become deformed or the rod pushed through it ... and very jerky action. This (at least now when new) is smooth in action, easily controllable, and a quick-reacting release. It seems well built, the swivel action helps with getting the right orientation. To early to say if it will last - but feels much better built than other standard blue guns I have.
