Nice set of speakers
First of all, I’m not sure I’d exactly describe this product as a studio monitor. The sound range is fairly flat like you might expect in a studio monitor but not quite as flat as my old numark speakers: their sound is a bit more polished. Also, the speakers are fairly small. I am very pleased they came with an 1/8 inch connector cable as opposed to the speaker wire my numark speakers were unfortunately equipped with, though. They sound good but I do miss hearing more of my own music like I did with the numark speakers. These are good for making music but are a bit less inspiring than the aforementioned numark ones. Certainly very solid for gaming, no complaints there. The small footprint is certainly something I appreciate more and more these days. Speaker calibration is definitely a thing to look up with any speaker, ie where you place the speakers in relation to walls, pointing the triangle of sound to your head, raising the speakers up a bit.. but yeah, they work, even in my room next to a wall, like most speakers I’ve set up (a bit incorrectly).

Amazing quality!
The only thing is it does not come with any cables for rca to anything to play sound. If you purchase be sure to have an rca jack to 3.5 or any other for sound. Otherwise it’s a great speaker.

Small But Mighty
Let's get the obvious out of the way - these speakers are purpose-specific. They're not your average desktop music boxes, they're flat and unforgiving and transparent. And those are all good things - music and video producers don't want their studio monitoring equipment to be mindless yes-men, they want the truth of what they're producing. What impresses me is that there's more bass, more volume, and more flexibility than you think coming from these. I've used Samson's GT4 Pro monitors in the past and I was floored at the value per dollar then - these outpace even that set. They're compact without sacrificing power, they're loud without sacrificing clarity, and if you need a little more bottom end, they're some of the only monitors in this price range that have a dedicated 1/8" subwoofer output jack and MAN does that come in handy. If you're a bedroom producer or need a second set to check things on a budget, these are a great buy. If these blow up next week then I wouldn't feel stupid buying another pair to replace them.Samson is a company I trust with my sound, at a price that doesn't make me feel like I'm turning into an elitist.

Great speakers when they work, but they don't tend to work
I tried this item twice. First the good. It has clean sound and simple operation, exactly what I wanted for this small part of my retrogaming setup I was using it in. Now, the bad. When I first bought this, the unit I received had a dead left speak. OK, fine, I exchanged it for another one that did work. Unfortunately, after only a month or so and a handful of uses, this second unit developed super low sound out of the left speaker. So, essentially, I had the same basic issue with the left speaker from two separate orders. The first time the left speaker was dead out of the box and the second time after a short time of light usage the left speaker suddenly lacked any volume. Whatever the issue is, it's clearly a persistent problem, particularly based on some of the other reviews and comments on here. It's a shame too, because outside of the non-functioning left speaker, the overall sound is exactly what I wanted - crisp and clear and not overpowering in the bass. Unfortunately, it's now too late to exchange these. Instead, I went with Edifier studio speakers, which thus far work perfectly fine.

Good studio monitors
I use these studio monitors with my desktop PC which is run off a Asus STX II sound card. It's a great sound card, and these speakers sound great running on it. I mainly use headphones for music listening and gaming, but when I want to take a break from them or listen to music while me or my wife are cleaning/cooking, these monitors are a dream. They get loud without distortion (your source has a lot to do with this also) and they work very well. One thing I will note is that the Sub woofer port won't power a standalone subwoofer from like a home theatre kit. You'll need a powered subwoofer to use with these. I bought a speaker wire to 3.5mm male input to try and plug in my subwoofer from my Onkyo setup that I don't use, and it wouldn't work. Just FYI. I give these speakers 5 stars and guarantee you won't be disappointed as long as you have a good source.

Back to the basics
These little speakers are nothing to write home about really just a pair of simple monitors that will do the job if you have to use them. they are fairly loud and clear have a bass boost for whatever you'd need that for for the price they're worth getting if your in a pinch in my opinion.

The headphone jack is loose, so headphone listening is impaired
The headphone jack defect is the main problem. In addition, volume from the speakers is low.

Great sound
I purchased this monitors for my son and he enjoys them while creating music. The size is very convenient, they don't require a lot of space. The sound quality is very good, clear and loud. These are worth the money. I would suggest if you are interested definitely give these a try you would enjoy them.
