Clown designed rubbish and the software is worse The best resolution with a lot less screen door
This is my 3rd set of vive googles, both the original and the pro 1 have issues with the lenses wandering together and apart, this has not been fixed on the new pro 2 googles in fact they have an added issue the lens distance or field of view has been spring loaded, the spring is so strong it springs out of place like a jack in the box, I have binned these as clown designed rubbish and gone back to pro 1 googles and the software is worse.Update. I have fixed the spring good by clamping it up and pushing in staples ;) and the software I have manged to get going by re-installing windows the graphics card steam and then doing the vive setup software. So all working the quality of the googles is so good the screen door is practically gone, I set the googles to the biggest pixels @ 90 htz with a sea hawk 2080 ti oc and run some major games, all good for frames and best in game quality

Impressive
It's amazing, much better than my nephews oculus quest by miles. The high resolution of the display makes this a dream to use. Tracking is spot on and the audio is fantastic. Running on a 6800XT, 5800X3D, 64GB RAM.

Vive pro 2 ;(
How is it that everyone praises and marvels at the image quality in Vive pro 2? I've seen a few videos where everyone raves about Vive pro 2. Why nobody talks about the disadvantages only about the advantages. I bought Vive pro 2 because on YouTube you talk so beautifully about the beauty of the image, and the truth is completely different. The lenses in these goggles for this price are totally hopeless. The image is not sharp, blurry, you can see some streaks until the eyes hurt. For the price, your jaw should drop, not be disappointed. I have a Pico 4 which displays a bigger and clearer image. One thing I miss in Pico 4 is 120 HZ instead of 90 Hz. Pico 4 costs 3 times less and is more comfortable to wear for a long time, better not blurry and not overexposed image.

First VR Product
I originally bought this after looking for hours at different VR headsets. I can't speak for others who have tried numerous headset generations and comparing to the Index but I am overall happy with the headset.I also purchased with this headset a smaller profile face pad which increased my FOV slightly and a cable management track to help hold the cable out of the way.The visuals are crisp, the 5k display is great, you do not perceive any screen door effect, and the high refresh rates allow for really smooth gameplay. As everyone says this does get let down by the lenses. In menus and beat saber I immediately noticed the so called 'god rays' although when actually playing I never noticed this as they only appear on high contrast menus (white text on black background) in HL Alyx gameplay I never noticed this. Finding the sweet spot is important in reducing artifacting and making sure the lenses are as close as possible to your eyes, which is a problem for any people such as my partner who wears glasses, they need the lenses moved further away, severely reducing FOV and increasing distortion. Contacts can help but there are some other headsets which have adjustments to allow prescription adjustments. The tracking is also a strong point as the Vive Pro 2 comes with 2 lighthouse bases for room scale tracking which works flawlessly and allows you to switch out for any number of accessories like leg trackers, or to even swap out the controllers. I will be swapping out the controllers for the Index ones which feature finger tracking, the Vive controllers I found are not great for gaming and are clunky. It's difficult to say if I would have gotten the Index as in pure specs the Vive Pro 2 beats it which was the deciding factor for me. It feels very much like a push of last gen tech, and the argument for the Index Vs Pro becomes challenging, apparently the lens design on the Index is better.I think overall this gives you the best of both worlds, if I could get this as a bundle with Index controllers I would do it in a heart beat. I will likely keep this for a few years and when the time is right and other tech has matured I will likely go down the upgrade path of the Bigscreen Beyond which should be a drop in replacement to the existing ecosystem although that headset alone at the time of reviewing is about the same cost as any leading VR kit.

Lots of problems
Received this and after a comprehensive setup i had a lot of difficulties updating the headset, tracking units and hand controllers. Lots of errors and restarts. After several hours I managed to get it all updated. Oddly after all that the headset itself seemed blurry in my left eye. I tried adjusting it as instructed. There’s a button to slide the front of the headset in and out but that didn’t seem to improve things. Then there’s a mechanical adjustment that is supposed to widen the focal parts of the eye pieces but that seemed to make no difference at all. I tried a number of things but the left eye being blurry didn’t seem to go away. This is obviously key to a VR headset… if the visuals aren’t good then nothing else matters. However the final straw for me is when using the headset for the first time the right controller went battery dead after 30 mins. The left one was still showing a full charge. I charged the right one up again over night but it went flat again after 30 mins. It’s all very pretty but I’m not impressed. Spoke to amazon Tech support who offered to repair it but given I had spent a lot of money on this I opted not to have it repaired and wanted a refund and they have agreed to this. I may try one of the other VR headset suppliers as this has potential. If the left eye focus had worked and the hand set had held a charge I’d probably be fairly happy with this kit.Maybe I got as duff one. Who knows. Hope this helps you choose though …
