I will never go back
I was always on the fence about using reusable menstrual products but I finally did and I wish I had done it sooner! My cramps are not as bad and honestly it's so much easier to deal with than tampons and bads and I don't feel gross all day. I don't even feel them.

I love it but not all of it
First off, i like this better than cups. i’ve tried everything and this is pretty far up there. it’s comfortable and saves me money. HOWEVER, i have a couple things i don’t like. If you are a beginner don’t use this. For me, it leaks less than cups. If yours is leaking, it’s probably because you didn’t do it right. You really have to get it far enough back there so that it tucks under your pelvic bone. You’ll know it when you get it. BUUTTTT if i don’t get it far enough back then it does start to slip out. secondly, i have a long period. it’s started to cause some discomfort and i’m having to take it out. Also it can be really hard to get in. Sometimes i have to use lube and it’s so flimsy it doesn’t go in and i really have to shove it which could be the reason for the discomfort lol. Overall i do like it a lot but some stuff is just personal problems. sorry if this was TMI🤣

For first timers
This review is for the first timers entering the world of menstrual discs. Initially, I thought all discs were the same, so I bought the "pink monstrosity" (as another reviewer so aptly put it) from CVS. I got my first practice with that one at the very end of my period, so hardly no flow, just wanted to practice insertion. For those worried or squeamish about insertion- don't be. I was at first, but after like 2 times I felt like a pro. Now the pink monstrosity felt odd. Not exactly uncomfortable, but odd. Similar to when you first insert a super tampon. What tipped me off that something wasn't right was how I couldn't get the front of the pink monstrosity disc tucked behind my public bone. I tried and tried, but it always slipped down. So I thought that can't be a good thing when I actually have a heavy flow. That's when I did some research and found out not all discs are the same, and they come in different sizes. Enter the Ecoblossom disc. You can see from my pic how much smaller it is than the pink monstrosity from CVS. I thought the Ecoblossom would be the perfect fit, and I'd finally have freedom from my normally vibe-killing period. So when my next cycle started, I tried the Ecoblossom, and it was super easy to insert and stayed tucked behind my public bone. I didn't feel anything, so that was another plus. But what I didn't like was how I was still getting blood on my pad somehow. I imagined a totally blood-free experience once the disc was in. I even inserted it in the shower to make sure to clean away any residual blood, but yet I still had some. So here is where I should advise you all to wear some kind of pad with your disc because you might be like me and inexplicably still have some stubborn blood that might ruin your underwear. OK, so aside from that minor disappointment, I went on with my day and kept checking for leaks. No leaks for 5 hours on day 1 of moderate flow. When I noticed leakage, I began the process of removing the cup. THANK GOODNESS I WAS AT HOME. Honestly, I don't know how people navigate these things in a public restroom. It would've been an absolute nightmare for me. First of all, I had trouble getting the disc out. I didn't panic, but I was starting to worry because I was contorting my finger, hand, arm, and back while sitting on the toilet almost straining muscles hoping to catch just a piece of the silicone ridge with the tip of my finger. The fact that everything was slippery with blood didn't help either. It legit took about 15 minutes to grab it, and another 5 to remove it gently without causing a mess. My sink is right next to the throne, so I literally only needed to pivot to wash the cup and my hands in the sink. But not everyone's bathroom is like that and definitely wouldn't be like that in a public restroom. So I wondered how do people deal with this bloody mess?? Fortunately, my mess didn't look like a crime scene as many other reviewers described, but my hand was covered, and surprisingly my nails were stained. So I spent an extra 10 minutes washing my hands multiple times and finally going under my nails with a moist wipe because just washing wasn't good enough. That made me think about all the people who use discs/cups and may not even realize they have blood residue behind their nails. It's enough to worry about all the other stuff going on in the world, I don't want to be side-eyeing disc/cup users wondering if they washed behind their nails. But anyway, the whole process of removing and washing up was a half hour. IMO, it wasn't worth the 5 hours of usage. So I didn't re-insert and used a tampon instead. I really wanted to like this, and I really wanted to enjoy the freedom, eco-friendly, and cost saving benefits, but for me, the work involved isn't practical. Luckily, I didn't have mind-numbing cramps because I couldn't imagine having to go through that process while in pain. I gave the discs 3 stars not because they don't work, because they do, but rather because the disc-life isn't convenient, and especially not if you are on the go and need to dump every 5 hours or so.

Game changer- a must for anyone! Tips + Other innovations!
This product is life changing! Is it absolutely perfect? NoIs it pretty darn close? Yes!This works fantastic to give you longer quality of life during a period not worrying about leakage, changing tampons etc. I love it for overnight if you are having a heavy flow day. It really helps me ‘forget’ it’s that time of the month, which lets be honest, is pretty tough to do, but this product definitely helps with that! You ‘can’ even use this for sex protection- however I’d be careful with it, and track your period so you know your pregnancy odds in case it moves around. I have used it before a few times for that, and partner said they might could feel it but wasn’t really sure, and it worked out alright. The only downside to the disc is that removal is almost always messy, ‘sitting’ is necessary, you just hook the cup with your finger to pull out, and it’s easiest to remove/insert in the shower for less mess if that bothers you too much. Have tissue ready to rinse and set the disc on when you remove, and make sure you don’t have rugs or carpet near removal for any drips in removal. (trust me on that)Sneezing, heavy coughing, and sitting in certain weird positions can cause leakage so be careful with that too. If the cup isn’t pushed all the way up, you might get some leakage - just adjust quickly in the bathroom if you have a big, giant body cough or sneeze!Don’t let that be a discouragement in buying this though, it’s *still* 100% worth it despite those small hiccups that can often happen with a tampon or pad anyway. These are great with Thinx period panties or other brands if you want 100% no mess protection. The future of period/sex protection is now! Some other cool related products I recently discovered that are life changing:•VCF Dissolving Vaginal Contraceptive Spermacide Film - it’s a contraceptive breath mint strip for down there sex protection! Lasts for 3 hours for sex protection. What?! How did I not know about these. Mind blown!•Washable Period Panties - multiple brands help with leak free protection to keep clothes clear from any leakage or stains. Amazon even has their own brand that isn’t bad.•And THIS menstrual disc! Lasting leak free protection for hassle free, less stressful periods!Hope that helps! I will never be without one of these discs, and it really saves money on buying tampons/pads! The quality of life extra time I get back during my time of the month is 100% worth it!
