Ok indulge me for a moment.I'm an advanced guitarist, nothing better than the average shredder.We all are looking for a pedal that gives epic tone AND control of the intensity as we scale thru.I had my doubts, I've wasted lots of money on crappy gear that promises the moon.These guys didn't promise anything... They delivered.My rig. (I no longer gig)Fender blues jr VIBerhenger compressor/sustain 25%FangJoyo American (yeah, it's worth it)Caline delay-echoTunerEasy, right? Simple but deliberate.I'm an Yngwie Malmsteen, Igor Paspalj, Randy Rhodes shredder.It's all about volume control for intensity without losing tone.Buy it but don't just drop it in and expect it to slay...EQ it in your rig, set it up to your ear and how you like it to feel.That's how you truly see it in action.On the flip side..Highschool garage band guys who just like to power chord Metallica all day will still love this raw vintage setting. As a guitarist on a budget, I can't shell out 700$ for a amp head and another 500$ for a different cabinet, but this pedal brought me closer to the tone I've been searching for!

First and foremost this pedal is by no means a comparison to the death metal from Digitech as others have said. If you've ever played a death metal you'd never compare this. It has a great gain but the highs are too muddy and dark. If you tweak the settings and use scoop mode with full highs, it does have a nice clarity at high gain. I'm not getting any impressive chuggs though. I'm running a warlock with Duncan invaders through a crate 2x12. It sounds mean with just about everything. Not so much this though.

For the money, it's the best pedal for the ultimate Death Metal tone. Use scoop setting check picture for best tone ( Use clean channel on amp with everything at 12 o'clock to start)

Excellent! Without the background noise included this pedal is a khunking chugger with palm mutes, and holds chords like they're Infused with starlight.. you'll feel awkward with it as I own a Gsp tube as well and doesnt really need to be incorporated in finding that lamb of God, and dark metal early 2000's sound...
