Good replacement thermometer
Purchased one of these for my big green egg. This is the third thermometer for this grill and honestly, this seems to be a better option than the original. Definitely cheaper than the original! Easy to read too.

Looks good but not accurate
In the process of restoring my XL BGE, I decided to replace the Thermometer, so I got this one. Looks really nice but when I used my BGE I noticed that the thermometer was at least 50 degrees off. if it weren't for the fact I use an eggenous on my BGE I wouldn't know what temp it is at.... as I said looks good but as a tool for controlling your BGE, you might want something with a digital read....

10 Degrees off at the start - now fluctuating, burning food
The thermometer was 10 off at the start, with a boiling water test, but I thought that would be close enough. Now just over 3 months in - I was doing a pizza in my big green egg, and suddenly the temp dropped about 100 degrees, after being stabilized, and cooking one pizza correctly. That really confused me, as the egg doesn't just drop temp like that. I opened my dampers and got it up to what the thermometer indicated was 450 degrees again - and burned the pizza bottom. did a boiling water test again, and was fluctuating between about 175 and 190. Now I can't trust this thermometer. I will go Big Green Egg brand, which costs more - but indicate that they are made in the USA.

Better than the origional
Its hard to measure accuracy of a thermometer that goes to such high temperatures, since the only "reference temperature" you have is boiling water -- it looks close. Close enough for me certainly.Its bright, colorful, and easy to see at a good distance. I like it!

Very large compared to OEM
Direct replacement, fits well.No issues with it. Numbers could be a little bigger but it's easier to read than the original.

Can't recalibrate it yourself
Temperature was off by 30 degrees and the unit does not allow you to re calibrate it yourself.Utterly useless.
