This works great! I recommend!
This cable looked like it was being bullied by the majority of people that bought it. In my desperate need for one of these "dual-port" link cables, and looking at every available option, I went with this one since it was the cheapest, and since I'm an electrical engineer major, I can fix it myself if it't true that it doesn't work.First off, shipping was amazing. It was only two days! Today I finally opened it up, plugged it into my DMG game boy and my game boy color, fired up some Tetris, and it worked great first try! Then I tried out Pokémon Red and Blue. Trading Pokémon was just fine. Then I tried out a battle between them. Again, no problems! So why do so many people have them? I don't understand...But one thing I did notice was that the port was a little too tight for my liking when plugging it into my GBC. The GB plug was fine, but maybe my GBC's port was bent up or something, or maybe it really was the cable. Either way, it should be easy to just file the edges down. And if people are having connection problems, that might help too.Overall, no problems whatsoever so far. I recommend at least trying it out.

Does not work, extremely cheap
The soldering is awful. I'm unsure if that's the issue or if the wires are even connecting the correct pins. I was worried it was because I was using gba SPs to try and trade between Gameboy Color pokemon games, however other reviews have stated that the type of Gameboy doesn't matter. Tested on multiple different gba SPs and Original GBAs. The Pin Outs for GBA link cables and GBC link cables are different however it's my understanding that the GBA is fully backwards compatible with GameBoy color accessories that use the link cable port so that isn't the issue here. Do not buy this one. You're better off going to a used game store and hoping they have some you can test out

It works 50/50 % of the time
So changed my review twice cable works 50/50 percent of the time you have to unplug and plug back in sometimes to get it to work if your trading Gen 2 Pokémon to Gen 1 my advice is start time capsule process then before you start the save start the process on 1st Gen and it will work this way only

It Works For Gameboy and GBC
I was nervous to buy this cable after seeing some pretty bad reviews, but I was desperate. I just used it to trade Pokémon between blue on my old Gameboy and yellow on my GBC and it worked great!! The connections are a very tight fit on the GBC, but they work - just be gentle.

Works on Super Game Boy 2 and GBA SP trade!
Worked flawlessly for trading Pokemon between Pokémon Red on the Super Game Boy 2 to Pokémon Gold on the GBA SP. Just use the GB Color connectors into both devices.

i hope its a dud.
I understand it's only compatable with game boy/game boy color games on either the game boy/color/advance system. I've tried many cables to trade from my pokemon yellow to blue game but none work, when a specific end of this cable is plugged into my game boy color the system won't even turn on. When I take the cable out it turns on. I really hope it's just this cable isn't working.

Will work between GBC games.
Great product! I wasn't sure whether or not I should get this cable based on all the reviews and questions answered. However, that's just because my situation that called for a transfer cable was pretty unique. So I'll just explain my experience with it.The main reason I was looking for a transfer cable was to trade Pokémon between Crystal version (GBC) and Silver version (GBC). Though people said that this cable works between GBC games, I didn't know if it worked with different devices. I have a Gameboy Color and a Gameboy Advance SP. I read that even though the cable fits into the SP, it won't trade. (they probably meant from GBA Pokémon games) Despite reading that, I bought it anyway and tried it out, and it works! So to be extra clear, here is what worked for me when trading Pokémon:Pokémon Silver in the GBC.Pokémon Crystal in the GBA SP.Linked them both with this cable.Trades were successful. Please note that it was a little tough to get the cable into the GBA SP, but it fits snug and WILL WORK BETWEEN GBC POKÉMON GAMES.
