Works well, good price
Ok, so not sure I love it (5 stars) but it does what it says it does, and does it well. So for me that is 5 stars. In my configuration I provide it 9.4 volts, it drives two motors. I use 3 Arduino Mega digital pins to control each motor. One pin for enable... this pin is optional, if you leave the jumpers in place you only need two control signals per motor. The other two pins per motor (which are connected to PWM pins on my mega) control the direction (forward and backward) and speed. In addition to outputting the control signals for the two motors the motor drive controller board also outputs a 5 volt signal (in front next to the Vin and Gnd screw down headers). I am using this to provide power to an external ESP8266 wifi board. The ESP board requires a little more current than I want to pull from my mega board. So this additional output is nice. You might be able to directly power the mega from this 5v out pin but I have not tried this. (I supply the mega with the same 9.4 volts and let the mega's voltage regulator do the work.)The price is good and at the time I purchased it was eligible for Amazon Prime so it arrived in two days.

Disappointing Performance: Honbay L298N Motor Drive Controller Board
The Honbay L298N Motor Drive Controller Board did not quite live up to my expectations with DC motors and stepper motors. It was compatible with a wide variety of Arduino boards, but it was bulky and somewhat awkward to integrate into some of my smaller projects. It is a dual H-bridge that works but is somewhat inefficient, and the module tends to overheat even with a heatsink. The wiring could be complex, and there were problems with the precision of motor control, making it frustrating to use in advanced robot projects. Overall, it is not the most reliable or user-friendly motor driver I have worked with.

Worked beautifully.
I got this to control a bipolar stepper motor I had put on top of my graduation hat to turn the tassel. I had some issues with the project overall (like frying my Arduino while messing with MOSFETS) but this was one part that caused 0 problems.

Great little driver
It would be much easier to use if it came with board markings or a simple users guide.I Had to add a small fan to keep the chip cool

Works well.
This control board works well with the Raspberry Pi. The markings on the connection points could be clearer, but overall it did the job.
