Love this little 5 watt gem!
Watched many reviews for this amp against similar amps, with and without pedals. This thing always held its own against higher priced units. For $190 its a wonderful value. Mine came in flawless condition. I powered it up to ensure it worked. It does. I wasn't supposed to get this amp till Friday so got it quick. Thanks to Amazon for their excellent service in all ways. Can't wait to break this amp in and use it to play with friends. Also, this amp has all the allure of the creations from the early years of amp design which are hard to find and expensive. This thing is new but not covered in some blah covering. It also has an attenuation button to reduce the overall volume. Sweet. You have a volume, tone, off and on switch and the attenuation button. So far I'm loving it. Highly recommend. Again, thank you Amazon for your continued excellent performance. Forgot it also has an external cabinet output. Get one!!!

I recommend a 12AT7 in place of the 12AX7.
A wonderful amp for the price! I put a 12AT7 in place of the 12AX7, which gave me more headroom and brightened the sound a bit. It's even better now!

Oddly, my favorite amp
I paid Amazon $99 for this amp. Now it's $199. So I took off a star.I can only take off one star though, because I really love this amp. I'm not sure I'd pay $200 for one if I didn't have one, but I definitely would keep mine even if you offered me $200 for it. I love it so much. It's perfectly small. I can carry this amp in one hand and my guitar case in another and walk miles if I need to or go up stairs. I can literally hold my guitar case and this amp with the same hand (it's tricky), and have another free hand for some more gear.It "does the thing" you want a little tube amp to do. It's not going to "get the sound" if you compare it to bigger more complicated amps, but it can definitely "get the feeling" in every case, if you know how to use it.It's very well built, very sturdy. The 5w-1w button is actually really helpful, just reduces volume without changing the tone much. I looked at the circuit and I can't figure out how that button does such a good job, it's stupid simple.I love this amp with my heart, and if I'm honest, I love playing it no less than my vintage 5w amp. In some ways, I love it more.

What a smokin' deal!
I had been sitting on the fence about this amp for nearly 8 months now, reading every review, both positive and negative, humming and hawing, looking at the Fender 57' Champ, back and forth...well I pulled the trigger! Thanks to the review that mentioned missing out on this little guy would be a tragedy.Arrived within 24hrs. No dents in the boxes was well packaged protected within a box-in-a-box with 1" foam corners. It's super sturdy, heavy (top heavy), and built well. Same model/build as pictured. Power cable is indeed attached, and has a velcro strap attached to the inside to keep the plug cable wrapped up. 2 tubes, open back, w/ a heat vent thingie that looks cool. Overall it is really vintage looking IMO.Compared to my Fender Mustang 1v2, this thing is better-built hands down. Has chrome hardware and rubber feet. Tolex is a light cream and well applied. I see no flaws in the tolex application. There was some stringy glue inside the back of the amp, that just pulled off the inside/front. Looks like it was leftover from the inside is not bare wood, but has a black tolex-like material applied to the speaker front and sides/back which was a surprise. I expected bare MDF board inside...nope. Attention to detail IMO. The handle feels weird but looks good and vintage. The instruction booklet is good and explains how to use the tube amp. Read it! Plugin guitars BEFORE turning it on, and allow to warm up for 10-15min. I did all this and so far no major meltdowns. It sounds really, really clean on the 1w setting with no gain. Love it! I can adjust my guitar via the volume/tone/switch now. Never seemed like they did much thru my solid-state, but so with the tube. Pretty amazeballs IMO. Love the 1w setting for practice and getting the tone dialed in. So much fun and warmer than my solid-state hands down.In 5w this thing gets LOUD! I noticed the tone control can introduce some hum, but nothing freakishly annoying, but at that 5w say set at 5 volume, this amp is too loud for my apartment building (I live in SF). Would be interesting to try an 8ohm speaker out, which may be my next project.Overall I think this thing is pretty awesome. Like anything on the internet folks got lots of opinions, but I would not hesitate to jump on one of these cool tube amps before they are gone. I got the extended warranty for $20 for 3 years thru Asurion. $151.86 for a tube amp with this build quality? Insane. Sure if you are a gear snob, pay 10x the price for a Fender Champ 57' but my bet is it wouldn't be 10x better, maybe 2x? I dunno. If you have never used a tube amp, I highly recommend giving this a shot.

Super impressed
Fantastic little amp! I play mostly older stuff like ‘50’s Johnny Cash. This has that sound, great tone straight but add a little reverb & delay and I couldn’t ask for anything more. Super impressed. I also have the 15 wattt version which is also mighty fine but I like the tone of the 5 watt better. 🤠
