Q: Does this product leave a lingering smell? For how long?

It has a slight smell when you're first applying but it doesn't stice around. Once it's all dried it's pretty much undetectable

Q: Can this be used to seal hand painted glassware?

It does help protect the paint, but keep in mind that it won't make it waterproof or microwave safe. Only paint that specifies that it will do this and requires oven baking will make your glassware actually usable. I have been working with hand painting on glassware for 18 years, and a bake-able acrylic (which is almost ANY GLOSS ACRYLIC) is really durable. But this is a good product for that which it was designed. Hope this helps!

Q: Would this be okay to use on dishware like mugs and plates?

Not if you plan to actually use them, or plan to wash them. It will make them a bit more durable, but will wear off under actual use.

Q: Any idea how this product performs on plastic? I'm looking to restore a pair of eye glasses

I used it as a finish on some wooden bowls, but want very impressed. It started peeling off about 4 months after of applied it (and the bowls were kept indoors). I'd I were you, I'd find something else.
