Works great and lasts

I have the V1p on my wife's car with the front and rear camera and it has some more features like wifi for viewing on the app but the V1 is cheap and gets the job done. I don't need to review footage very often thankfully but my computer has a micro SD slot so it's an easy transfer for review. The most challenging part is the hardwire install but not absolutely necessary if you have a spare 12v outlet (included with camera). You need to buy your own micro SD card and it accepts up to 256mb which will record approx 13hrs at 1080 resolution. Cera automatically writes over oldest videos when card is full. Easy, no hassle and you'll be thankful you spend the $50 if you ever need to set the record straight.

In the daytime license plates and streets can be made out just fine, but night quality you'll have to be up close to make out plate numbers. Installation wasn't difficult. I've installed it with the hardwire kit too that I purchased separately. It's only about $50 and the picture quality is pretty good during the daytime. Night time not so much, but not terrible. If you want to add a rear camera, you'll have to buy the higher model as you can't just add a rear camera to this model although it's basically the same. There's also on screen menu to navigate through your options and video files which may be a good thing for you as some other brands require you to use their own apps w/o a screen and connect through wi-fi to access the camera.

They keep coming out with newer higher resolution dash cams with more do-dads in them but for me, this model is all I need, and I having been using it for years for a number of my cars. I just bought a few more for gifts.My daughter especially liked it, since she was responsible for an accident a few years ago and was too embarrassed to speak to the insurance agent about it. I asked the agent if they would like the dash cam footage, she eagerly said yes, and my daughter did not need to speak to the insurance company.

That’s it. No continuous recording. A lady in her pajamas ran a red light turning in front of me when I was going straight and I plowed her honda civic in my truck early in the morning. The camera recorded AFTER the accident already occurred, caused a huge pain in the ass insurance ordeal where the lady denied running a red, and my insurance had to pay for my truck repairs which only happened due to covid vehicle price spikes making my truck worth about double it’s normal value. Thanks for nothing. Absolutely worthless if you have an accident, 0 witnesses (common), and the other party simply lies. All they have to do is lie. Getting this is like spending $50 to NOT have a dash cam. Just give them your money why don’t ya. This product needs to be taken off the market. Oh it will last a long time, but it records when it wants to. Why gamble with something like insurance? It makes driving horribly unsafe when your lifeline is your vehicle. That lady basically tried to murder my simply by lying to her insurance company. Huge pain in my a** and it costed me thousands to use a rental car in the mean time which wasn’t covered. Lovely.

This very good dash cam and was shipped fast. The product was perfect and I would buy it again.

Only complaint is it don’t pick up license plates unless your pulled close to a car. Was an issue when I needed plate info for a hit and run, but the guy was caught, so it worked out.

I have been running this dashcam in my vehicle for nearly 3 years. I have not had any issues with the heat, as we live in the extreme heat of Arizona. It has come in handy a couple of times to document interesting things while driving. This product has done me so well that I ordered two more units to put in the rest of our vehicles. One of the units was in a rollover accident (was t-boned and vehicle flipped) and came out unscathed and aided with insurance purposes. I would say these are virtually indestructible. If you are looking for a well made inexpensive solution, then this is your cam.
