Q: In the photo there is a caption indicating an expiration date. what is the significance of this date? does it mean the machine has to be trashed then?

Hello A.Ward, I am a medical doctor and I purchased this unit for my father. The expiry date will pertain to the pads which usually have a 2 year shelf life. The battery will usually last 4 years from installation. When pads and batteries are replaced, the unit itself will continue to function. I hope this helps. Russ

HI Thank you for your enquiry. The battery has a shelf life and standby life Shelf life: battery is labelled with install-by date 5 years from the date of manufacture. Standby life: 4 years typical, when battery is installed by the install-by date I trust this helps Defibstore Ltd

We have had our machine a few years now and the battery life has been good

My instruction manual is only in English, but the 'troubleshooting tips leaflet was in about 20 different languages (!) As the machine 'speaks' to you, presumably it will use the language of the country you buy it in.
