I always use soft head toothbrushes because the enamel in my teeth is starting to wear down and my dentist said it was from brushing my teeth too hard. These Oral-B brushes are nice looking and have a great indicator but they are really extra soft. They feel almost like a toddler's toothbrush. They do a decent job of getting my teeth clean but they tend to flatten faster than other soft toothbrushes. I am going to buy medium next time and they will feel like soft.I still gave them 4 stars because the indicator seems right and they feel good in my hand. They leave my teeth clean but I just feel like the softness of the heads aren't getting my teeth as clean as they could be. But then, I am used to brushing my teeth with medium or even stiffer toothbrushes and going to town on my poor teeth so these definitely are safer for my enamel and my teeth look fine.

Some toothbrushes are too firm, some are too soft. These toothbrushes are just right! I love that they have the blue indicator bristles which help you figure out when the toothbrush needs to be replaced. There are other ways of figuring that out because you can really tell when plaque is not being removed completely, however when the indicator bristles look less blue at the ends and the color has changed halfway it is normally time to replace them.I have tried extra soft bristles and they are not good enough for getting rid of plaque. The compact soft ones are the best I think. They do not irritate your gums and do a great job of cleaning your teeth properly.
