I have a 25-30 year old Dutchwest Model 2460 woodstove. The previous combustor (replaced 6 years ago) had stopped working. Turns out it was completely disintegrated. I ordered this one yesterday and it arrived this morning. Installation was easy, no surprises. Perfect fit. Within a few minutes of starting the fire it was already at "light-off" temp (500F). Once engaged, it quickly and steadily climbed to 1100F and slowly dropped back to 650F as the fuel was exhausted. Reloaded the firebox and it quickly climbed right back up with that beautiful orange glow of a fully functional combustor. Ordering a second one to keep on hand with a "note to self" to not wait another 6 years to replace it.

Fit is a little snug but for the price I can live with that. Always good to keep a spare converter on hand. Sometimes mine will clog up and I have to swap them.

While I disagree with commentators who state that it doesn't fit the Dutchwest 2461 (it fits my Dutchwest 2461 perfectly) I find that no matter how hot I get the primary combustion chamber, the catalyst never 'kick' in... appears to not work at all. Waste of money. I put the old one back in and it worked right away, just not great because it's been in use for two years. But the old one worked and this new one is a dud.

Not a "metal" catalyst as advertised. Ceramic just like the old one. I will install and see if it works well???

Older Dutchwest stove needed replacement catalytic converter. Perfect form, fit and function.

Catalyst is working and 1/2 the price of others. Definitely a must have when one goes out. We will see if it makes it a season. Time will tell.
