Works pretty well so far!
These blackout covers work amazingly! I have tried blackout curtains and other items to try and prevent heat from coming into my window and nothing has worked. Although I am waiting for Summer to be full on before I say these work amazing, so far I have noticed a pretty significant change in the amount of heat that comes through. It definitely does blackout your entire room if that is all you need, these with definitely do the job. The panel of material it comes with is fully customizable in size and comes with velcro to hang it up on your window. I personally didn't just want a blacked out room so I open it during the cooler parts of the day and close it during the hottest. I highly recommend using the Velcro it comes with because it is very durable and holds really well. I also just like being able to take it down whenever I want to.

Pretty good, even with minimal effort
I will admit that I put very little effort into this. Barely measured when I cut the material and loosely stuck it into place. The kit is well-designed, love that there are several options for applying it to the window. Even with the minimal effort I put in (didn't stick down every edge, accidentally cut one edge thinner than the window, etc.) the light-blocking is much better than any blackout curtain I've ever purchased, which is a miracle because as a night-shift worker I've tried at least 10 different curtain sets over the years and have even doubled up on some that have promised (and not delivered) on the blackout effect. Granted I still have my old blackout curtains up over my less than perfect attempt with this material, but based on how well they work even without me cutting them perfectly and sticking every edge down, I would say these work really really well.

Absolute darkness finally possible
These things work so much better than expected. Total blackout in my bedroom which is amazing considering a spotlight shines directly on my windows. The only “downside” is you need to install the included velcro on the walls around the window and you can’t rapidly take these down and put back up. I decided I rather have this up all the time and just have the curtains drawn over it so it isn’t a black rectangle on the wall.Keep in mind if you happen to have a portable AC hose running to the window you will need a blackout insulation wrap for the hose and will need to cut this material and make a more complicated double seem but it’s worth it. Can make the room dark in middle of the day no problem.

Initially disappointed, then pleasantly surprised
When I first unboxed the curtains, I was a little thrown off at the fact that they’re not typical “curtain” fabric material and instead a flimsy feeling welded plastic fabric sheet. They are very thin, so I don’t think that it’s reasonable to expect any insulating properties (like reflectix). HOWEVER, the durability and overall function of them is great. While they may not be insulating at all, the silver side is very reflective and the curtains were cool to the touch on a sunny day. They are easy to trim and the edges don’t fray at all after cutting. I’m actually shocked at how strong the material is; it feels super flimsy but it took a huge amount of effort to get it to tear or stretch. It also packs down very small which is a plus. They’re about as blackout as a blackout curtain could be. The Velcro included sticks incredibly well and I haven’t had any issues with it so far.If you are purchasing this with the sole purpose of a blackout window covering that has good solar rejection properties, then I think you’ll be really happy with these. If you want something that has more of an insulating factor, then you will probably have better luck with reflectix. I’m using these for a privacy window covers in my truck camper and I think they serve their purpose very well.

Cheaper than therapy
This product far exceeded my expectations!!! I have a window above my bathtub that has the rainglass you cannot see through, but of course it lets light in (cellular shades diffuse it some). I wanted to be able to relax in a bubble bath with candles in a completely dark room, and this product does not disappoint! It is very easy to use and I was able to put it up without a second set of hands. I used the adhesive circles that come with it since I plan to keep it up all the time. It also comes with 12 velcro strips that are each 4" long, and I will keep those to use with something else. My window is 46" x 46", so I cut the curtain in a 47" x 47" piece. You want to clean the outside of the window frame where you will adhere to the metal window frame. I think it is wise to stick this beyond the edge of the actual window glass so that the light is physically unable to penetrate any cracks. This is why the instructions say to cut it a little larger than the window. I used 16 of the 18 provided adhesive circles, which are VERY sticky. Peel each one off, stick to the clean metal frame facing inside to the room. The next step I would do differently next time. Then you peel off the other side (facing you) of each circle that is now on the frame to expose the sticky part that you will apply the curtain to. They are so sticky that it was a bit tricky to get each one started to pull off the backing...next time I would actually expose the sticky on both sides before putting it on the wall because you could just barely touch it to the frame so that your skin does not touch much of each side. Once you have the entire window frame ready with sticky side exposed toward you, start at the top and hold the curtain up (black side facing you) to make sure it exceeds just beyond each side and the top. Press the curtain hard against each sticky circle. Since you just barely stuck it on the wall to prevent pressing the inside sticky side, now pushing the curtain from the black side will allow you to press the circle well into the frame. Work your way down each side simultaneously to make sure the curtain again just barely passes over the edge of the frame and sticks to each circle, finishing the bottom horizontal side last. I cannot send a picture with the lights off because it literally is a dark room and I cannot believe not a single sliver of light comes through! Since this is between my window and the cellular blind, you cannot even tell it is there. Draw up my bubble bath, light the candles, and relax the cares away any time of day!! This would also work great with the velcro strips when traveling with small children who fall to sleep easier in darkness, especially outside of their normal sleeping location.
