Great little tester for the price got it to trace some UTP cables and did job fineI suppose it’s a bit plasticy build wise but did the job as well as my old fluke which died and cost about 6 times as much 👍Zip up wallet is nice addition

Good functionality and features for the money - Makes RJ45 ethernet trace and fix easy
I'm really pleased with this tool. I've only had it a few days and used it once, so cannot comment on robustness, but it does what it says on the tin for a very reasonable price. It comes with a carry case, IDC tool and two 9v batteries. All the cheaper testers I looked at don't come with case or batteries and don't have a trace feature either, so it really is good value for money.I had am ethernet link between two parts of the building that should have been providing gigabit ethernet, but was only providing 100 Mbps. Firstly I used the trace facility to work out which of several wires at the switch was the one that went to my remote location. The cable run was only about 20m and the signal wasn't very strong ( I did wonder if it would struggle with much longer 100m runs, but haven't been able to test this yet). However, it did make it very easy to pinpoint exactly which cable from a bunch of them was the one I needed. I then used the remote test facility which showed me that one of my 8 conductors was open-circuit. This works from either end, so you don't need a friend at the other end on a mobile phone to confirm which lights are flashing, you can see which wire is broken from either end of the cable.A few minutes later after re-terminating the cable at both ends, my link was working at full speed. :-)

Works well
Pretty good for the money. Instructions are a bit hit or a miss so probably best if you've a bit of experience with these sorts of tools. When using remember that what looks like the volume dial is actually the gain dial. I thought the tool wasn’t working at first.

It works well
Bought it to wire my broadband network.I had all wires sorted out to all rooms, but all of them were ending with no connectors. This tool saved me a few hours of a guessing game to find which one belonged to each room and it also tested the connectors were working as expected. The only part that I couldn't figure out was the PoE tester, maybe a simpler tool would do the same job (but the price difference might not be that significant)

Flimsy crocodile clips
Great product in one way, helped me easily trace nearly 50 unmarked intruder cables. Much easier than belling out cables one by one. However, the time I saved was outweighed by the time I wasted consistently putting the crocodile clips back together. I will look into investing some better quality crocodile clips as do not want to give up on the product altogether.
