Quality BBQ gauge
This gauge is easy to calibrate and easy to read on my Weber Jumbo Joe which did not have a temperature gauge. Lavalock told me to tap the metal but it was too thin for that so I had to drill a 7/8 " hole and tighten the nut down. Problem solved. Awesome product.

Seems pretty good...
When buying a temp gauge or thermometer for a grill or smoker, there are a huge number out there that have a huge range of reviews. It can be quite confusing.I settled on this Lavalock unit and it duly arrived in good time. What annoyed me about it was that it only had a tiny thin knurled ring (instead of a decent solid stainless steel nut) that screws on the threaded portion behind the gauge to hold it in place, you know, in that hole that you just drilled in your cover. I was really expecting something a lot more solid than the pathetic threaded ring that it came with.I looked for something more solid with the same thread and eventually discovered that the thread on the same shaped threaded ring that is used on these clamps (link below) used for house wiring fit the gauge perfectly.https://www.amazon.com/Hubbell-Raco-2711B5-Connector-Squeeze-2-Inch/dp/B00NLOKBAQ/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=romex+clamp&qid=1596575279&sr=8-2Personally I'm not convinced that I should have had to go looking for additional threaded rings, but in the absence of a solid lock nut, desperate times call for desperate measures. Thankfully I had a couple of these clamps in my workshop, clamps which are now totally useless because I removed the threaded rings and used them on my Lavalock gauge that is now securely mounted into the top of my offset grill.I put the original threaded ring tight against the gauge so I could tighten it back against the other two rings to lock the gauge in place, and added a dab of silicon sealant around where the gauge sets into the drilled hole. The two additional threaded rings were screwed in securely on the inside to the grill top and once the sealant had set, it was secure and leak-proof.I compared the gauge reading with two other temp gauges, one being a digital unit, the other being the original gauge on the other side of the grill cover. All three were within a couple of degrees of each other, so I was happy to leave it adjusted exactly as it came to me.It appears to be spray-proof, and I've not seen any condensation in it, in fact it seems really well made, hence four stars. It would have been five stars had it not been for the pathetic threaded ring that it came with.

One of the best add ons for your smoker
My Oklahoma Joe smoker only had one thermostat and it was not very good quality I got two of these and took only 10 minutes to install them. Once installed on the very next smoking session I can instantly see the difference in heat zones. I use these two thermostats in addition to a wireless thermostat. These seem to be made very good quality and after reading many reviews went with this particular brand. The best feature I like about these is they are very easy to read and large enough where you don't have to get super close to read. This is a very affordable but yet great add-on for your stick burner. I did not have to drill any holes this screwed right into the existing holes in my Oklahoma Joe lid.

This thermos is easy to read from a distance
This gauge is definitely adjustable. I checked it for accuracy by immersing the sensor (the part that sticks out inside the smoker ) into a pan of boiling water, It was only a few degrees off, but adjusted the reading to what appeared to be 212 deg. F.. I tossed the existing thermometer on my smoker, and after drilling out the proper dia. hole in the smoker door, installed the new thermometer using the supplied nut and washer. This thermos is easy to read from a distance, and looks great!

Looks nice, but does not work well
Nice easy to read indicator, the threads were correct and attached easily. Appears to be well constructed thermometer. However the function leaves a great deal of room for improvement. I did contact the seller and they recommended a solution, however I need to wait until I use it again. Hoping for the best. I should mention the problem I was having. The thermometer read about 90 degrees cooler than actual, which equals dry over cooked meat. I will try calibration suggestion and see how it goes.
