Helps me wake up in the morning (yes, it does make a big difference!)
In my mind, this product is ideal to put on a table by the side of your bed. Changing colors sets a nice mood. Turning lights off and on from your phone is handy. The biggest thing by far is setting it with your alarm so that it helps you wake up. It makes a big difference shining in your eyes and helps me get on track. The build is nice and solid enough. My child dropped mine and the top popped off. I put it back on and we've been good to go. No big deal. Battery life isn't going to be incredible because it's a light—it burns serious power. But it works for a romantic outside date—maybe 1.5 to 2 hours depending on brightness. The button on the back is legitimately helpful. If I'm outside I might not be connected to wifi and don't want to only control from the app. So turning on and changing colors with a physical button is really handy. It's quite bright. Totally sufficient for setting the mood in a bedroom or use as a reading light. Think something like a small beside lamp and you'll be on the right track.Learn to have fun with it. Away on a trip I put on sappy red for my wife back home to let her know I was thinking of her. My kids like to pretend that they're on the moon finding martians (yeah, doesn't make sense) so changing the light to green on my phone tells them the martians are coming. Still, my favorite uses are setting a mood and waking up in the morning. One small gripe. The charger cord has a funny bend so the light can stand up. That's all fine I suppose, but after only a year and mostly just beside my bed, it's fraying. I'm not sure how I would replace it without ordering from Philipps directly. So I'd like to see better construction there.Overall, totally glad I got this product and recommend it without reserve.

I LOVE THIS LIGHT - HIGHLY RECOMMEND
I absolutely love this light and am glad I bought it. I asked questions on here first as I was wondering if it was worth it. Here's my take: It is definitely an accent light, but it is bright enough to light up a corner of the room, which is what I wanted it for. While it offers "colors", I really didn't see much in the way of "color" intensity so you get color, but if you wall color, you don't notice much as the color intensity is poor and not adjustable. I was able to get the white brighter or dimmer by using my Alexa with it. The one drawback is, you CANNOT adjust any color settings or light intensity from the Hue app - you have to do it with the button on the lamp. In other words, if you have it set on white, but you'd like to change it to pink - you have to go to the lamp and push the button to change the color, whereas with the color Hue bulbs, you open the app and change the colors and the intensity. I do not see that you can change the brightness on the light or using the Hue app at all, but you can do so with Alexa. However, what a great lamp for sitting in the corner of a room on top of a table where you want some light, but don't want to put a large lamp, or any standing lamp for that matter. I was hesitant to purchase it, but am glad I did.

Its a little bowl of light!
Philips Hue is a unique thing. You're either into it for the ecosystem, or you think its absolutely stupid to pay that much for an LED bulb. You can tell what side I fall into...I think its much more than a light, Its a notification system, Its a automation system. It really is whatever you want it to be (While some of the more advanced features will have you integrating different systems like IFTTT or Smartthings)This is where the hue system really shines! But we're here to talk about the Hue Go, So lets do that...I find this light is a very good multi purpose light. Its rechargability makes it great emergency light source, So say your power went out, Great, you can push the button on it and hello light! now you're not in total darkness! Although you don't get 100% brightness on battery, its about 40% to conserve energy. its still a great option in a pinch!I've used this as a Iris as well, and as a table light, a notification light for reddit, and really whoever i need a small light source!I've been waiting for something with battery power and Its finally here! I wish it was a little cheaper as its a 100.00 plastic enclosed light, but like i said its either for you or it isn't, and if you've bought into the hue's ecosystem, its for you!

Nice accent light.
Jan 2016 UPDATE: It now is compatible with Echo! Just need to go into your settings and it should be listed there. click the box to 'check' it and it will be added to your collection. I use my system all the time. Tip: I set one light to come on in the morning when I'm about to leave bedroom so i can see going into living room without fumbling with light switches. Then as I'm about to leave for work, I just say "Alexa, turn off table light." and I'm good to go. Just one of many ways you can use.The Hue Go is a nice addition to the Philips Hue lighting system. It's about the size of a small rice bowl and does just what it says. makes pretty accent lighting. the lights are crisp and its an interesting concept. you can set it 'flat' on a table (like a bowl) or it can be set at an angle, like shown in the picture. Just depends on where you want the light to go for the mood you are creating. It also adds effortlessly to your Hue app or Hue Pro. (I use both). However, couple items of note before you jump in..1- this is compatible with your Echo device2- the charge lasts for about 3 hours when unplugged so plan accordingly3- if you are using alarms/timers on it, keep it plugged in to work properly4- not waterproof or shatterproofBesides that, I enjoy the light, which is now #4 on my system. recommended.
