Yes. There are small plastic pegs on the stand that hold the plane in place. Be careful, these break easily.

If you ordered this from Amazon, I'm sure they will make it right. I ordered an F-35, and one of the vertical stabilizers was broken off. I contacted Amazon, initiated a return, and had an undamaged one in less than a week.
