There's something in here for all levels of skill and experience. The Author does a great job presenting key points and covers a large subject area in a concise manner.

Having worked as a data architect supported by a big team of complementary data specialists, I’m about to embark on a solo data transformation... I had hoped this book might help organise the methodology, and it’s perfect! The writing is sympathetic and straightforward. Deep understanding of the subject really only comes with application, but this book is full of aides memoires to keep those lessons in focus, and support to diagnose why your data model (and the architecture based on it) broke down. Great reference.

A data modelling book that tells it how it is. The author takes a step by step approach to explain how each aspect of data modelling adds on the previous to build sophisticated models. It is obvious from the explanations and detail that it is based upon actual experience rather than just the standard modelling explanations that are often database focussed. It contains a lot of check lists that I find gives me confidence in tackling data modelling at work.

This book is amazing for any one wants to gain Data Modelling skills. Its thorough book focussing not only on skills but approaches, alternatives, best practices. Most of the examples are taken from the real world corporate companies and will definitely make sense for anyone already working with data. There are plenty of tips and concepts even an expert modeller would find useful.
