The Vanishing Rainforest Paperback – August 9, 2004

this is about the conflict between 'outsiders' who cut tress and the natives who live there. they resolve the conflict by building a tourist hut. the books quite wordy, and contains real-life language of anger and hate, which may sound unpleasant but portrays the natives peoples dilemma.it starts off really well, but the ending seems rushed and abrupt.there is some useful information about conservation at the end.the pictures spoil it for me, they are really blurry and artsy.

A quality book for children to read, learn and teach about the morals of looking after the environment and our duty of care to the planet that we inhabit.

Used to support an English unit with a year 3/4 class. Good story and lots of discussion points

A really beautiful book that helped me teach about deforestation with a class. Beautiful illustrations and plenty of salient points to the story, to aid further discussion.
