Very Good Mix
I grow lots of houseplants, including many succulents (I live in the desert). I took a chance with this mix, and I am glad I did so. It drains very fast, and dries out very fast--this is good for succulents in the desert. But even when it dries out on the surface, the plant is still doing fine because (I think) this mix holds water in between particles for a long time.I think overwatering is greatly reduced in this mix. I am a serious overwaterer, so this is great for me. There was a learning curve with using this because the consistency is a bit unusual. When wet, it feels soft and has a sort of bounce-back to it--I don't know how to describe it properly. Kind of like a latex pillow feels when you push on it. Or the top of a cake once it's done and when you press the top, it sort of springs back into place. It holds a great deal of water, but it never feels wet.I am going to purchase another bag of this mix. I used it to root some jade plants and to root a dracaena. I have been struggling with that darn dracaena for about two years. But in this mix it is putting out new leaves for the first time in a year.I am really into potting media--I experiment with pretty much everything, and I am SUPER picky about soil mixes. Typically, I mix my own. But this mix is one of only two I actually prefer over my own mixes.I would recommend this mix for any plant--it doesn't have to be a succulent. I would also humbly advise you to not be turned away by the unusual consistency, if you have only used premixed soil in the past. Those almost always contain lots of peat, and they feel radically different from this mix. This is a superior mix, and I'd say experiment with it to get used to the consistency; it's worth the trouble.

Kitty approved!
I bought this mix to help revive some of my poor succulents that I've been neglecting, and while I can't yet speak to its effectiveness, from the other reviews and the look of the soil I'm really confident in what it's going to accomplish! The soil is mixed super well and smells the way I'd expect it to. It has a really nice consistency and you can just tell that this company knows what they're doing. I'm really satisfied with the purchase, especially because I was not expecting a bag this BIG! This is much more soil than I had anticipated purchasing but I'm all for it! My kitty is too; she thinks we made the right choice.I'm no expert gardener by any means but I like the soil enough that I'd definitely recommend it to my friends!

Crazy expensive, but it works
The price on this soil is ridiculous. Let's just get that out of the way. That said, it actually makes my succulents grow noticeably faster, lusher, and healthier. So I will be buying this again when I need more. I will also grumble at the price the whole time.

Quality is not what is advertised
This looks like it has peat moss in it. Might be fine for some succulent species (not all), but not really for most cacti. It will hold too much water for too long and will rot your plant.Does not advertise the percentage of organic matter in the mixture. Described as having vermiculite which is NOT in this mixture. Also be warned that this is described as a potting mix for a variety of very different species, bonsai plants, house plants, succulents and cacti. I think I had a senior moment because no soil medium is that versatile. I wouldn’t recommend this soil for any succulents or cacti. Better off making your own mixture of 3 parts potting soil, 2 parts sand and 1 part perlite. I have been using that soil mixture for Years and never had any succulent with root rot.I took a chance on this because I was looking for a coarse cacti mixture for Lithops, this is definitely NOT it.Needs a better description because this is not the best starting medium for a beginner because for it to be practical it would need tweaking to make it usable, and for the price this is not worth it.You receive way too little for the amount paid. This company is majorly taking advantage of people who have a hard time finding succulent/cacti potting soil. Or who can’t drive and get it.Try my mixture and you will have success!!3-2-1
