Dizi Set of 7 Bamboo Flutes in C, D, Eb, E, F, G and A The Dizi set consists of 7 flutes tuned in C, D, Eb, E, F, G and A. They are made from bamboo and are also referred to as "Chinese bamboo flute". They are blown across the hole and often played with various advanced techniques, such as circular breathing, overtones, the "flying-finger" triller, the multituning or the flutter and double tongue. In addition to the blow and six grip holes, the Dizi also has another hole, the mokong. Above it is attached with a little spit a wafer-thin, slightly roughened bamboo membrane or rice paper that creates a nasal buzzing sound when playing and thus gives the Dizi its unique tone. The Dizi is therefore a flute of traditional Chinese music. It is used in many areas, in the Chinese opera, as well as in the orchestra or in folk music. There are different theories about the formation of the dici. While partially assumed that Dizi was created on an express mission of the Yellow Emperor, others assume a cultural import during the Han Dynasty. Recently, archaeologists have found proof that simple flutes, that is, those without the additional mokong hole, have been used in China for over 8,000 years. Bone flutes from this time are still useful today and are noticeably similar to their modern counterparts. mysevendo/stylemoebel item number: I010680000
