From the urban monstrosities of Aphex Twin's "Come to Daddy" to the limb-shattering weirdness of Leftfield's "Afrika Shox," Cunningham's music videos emphasize the freakish and the bizarre, but they are also arrestingly beautiful and otherworldly, as in the aquatic effects used for Portishead's "Only You," combining underwater movements with ominous urban landscapes. Some of Cunningham's shock effects are horrifically effective (his 'flex" video installation, excerpted here with music by Aphex Twin, is as disturbing as anything conjured by David Cronenberg), while others are cathartic or, in the case of Aphex Twin's "Windowlicker," outrageously amusing. And while the eerie elegance of Madonna's "Frozen" arose from a chaotic production, the signature work in this collection is clearly Björk's "All Is Full of Love," a masterfully simple yet breathtaking vision of intimacy involving advanced robotics and seamless CGI composites. In these and other videos, Cunningham advances a unique aesthetic, infusing each video and commercial he makes with a dark, occasionally gothic sensibility. Great, although sadly incomplete
First off, this is a great collection, and we're lucky it was put together at all, so any complaints seem nit picky. But..... one of the dissapointments about this wonderful collection is that there isn't more of it. At the risk of sounding greedy, I wish it was as densly packed as the other two discs. But mainly, (and is there anyone else totally upset about this) I wish the FLEX short was here in total, all we get is the first 5min of this astonishing piece and, in my opinion, his best. My guess is that (having been lucky enough to see the whole thing) it was really too graphic to be on a DVD so widely distributed, and also, it being an "art" piece it has to remain an excerpt so as to still bring in an audience on the exhibition circuit - both, I guess, are understandable reasons. Its just too bad - that so many people are missing Cunningham's finest work and I really wish they would find some way to make it accessible. Aside from that I'm glad its out, although the trailer is really misleading - as it includes the edited pieces of FLEX as well as several videos and commercials that are not on the DVD, too bad.... thanks anyway guys...

Chris Cunningham: Bizarre Brit
Anyone worth their salt as an Aphex Twin fan should recognize this man's name instantly. The two go hand-in-hand like two schoolgirls skipping home from school. Besides that, the work Chris has done is nothing sort of remarkable. The efficiency of his make-up effects is above that of even some big budget films. Be it robots for Bjork, bleeding darkness in the desert for Madonna, or insane Asian children for Squarepusher, the depth that Chris delves into his videos is staggering. For the disk itself, it includes several commercials (such as a peculiar PlayStation 1 promotional commercial, an unused "smashing" Levi jeans commercial, and a car commercial where the shifing car gears are compared to a well-rehearsed bodybuilder), a couple video commentaries, and some personal works he's done. However, it isn't all good. The material on the disk itself is amazing, but they show clips of videos Chris has done, but you cannot watch them on the DVD. It's sort of a tease when you see such interesting looking videos, but only to glimpse them for about 2 seconds. No mention of hidden videos is present, and never arose through many viewings, so it could be just that: No extra videos. Other than this lack of suggested material, it is still very much worth a buy. If you like Aphex Twin, or any sort of bizarre music videos, it is worth every cent.

Great box, but should be better.
Amazing box, the colection of Director's Label it's pretty good. I have all of them.But, i don't know if Chris got more works, but the content should be bigger than this. It's a few videoclips and stuff. What it is really worth, it's that contains a lot of interviews, and so the book, which I think it is definitely the best part of the box.

I am a big big fan of Chris Cunningham's work and I just love everything about this DVD. It has music videos that I love on them so I can show my family how brilliant he is. I was sad that they didn't have rubber Johnny on there but that is ok. The only thing that is really on this thing is music videos and one behind the scenes with Bjork and Chris. I would only recommend buying this if you want the music videos in your possession.

Trippy.
I bought this DVD to play in the background at my Halloween party. The videos are creepy and hilarious, and the DVD has a good mix of material. I wish it was longer, but honestly, I paid $4 for it and really feel like I got a great deal. Window Licker is fantastic.

PRODOTTO OK MA È LA REGIONE SBAGLIATA
Non sono stato contento del prodotto in quanto nella sua descrizione è BEN SPECIFICATO "Edizione: Germania". Beh la Germania è nella regione 2 eppure mi è arrivato un DVD della Regione 1, per cui non è guardabile se non dal computer.Sarebbe ora che chi vende questo genere di prodotti specificasse BENE la regione del DVD, insieme al codice dell'editore, in modo da non sbagliare versione (nel caso ce ne siano più d'una).Per il resto il prodotto è arrivato in perfette condizioni.

Les trois coffrets sont en très bon état, mais il manque le livret du coffret sur Michel Gondry, et ce n'était pas mentionné nulle part en commandant qu'il serait manquant.
