Quantum Physics Workbook For Dummies

Got this book today, ordered it 12 days ago, free shipping, and used. Did not expect much. It arrived in perfect condition, can't tell if it were used, it is so good. I have been watching the free video of Quantum Physics from MIT 8.04 lessons from 2013 and 2016, but I needed something more. This book is very clear, and easy to follow. I got it this morning and I have read 23 pages. Learned states, probability amplitudes, normalized state vectors, Bras, and Kets, a start on Orthonormal operators, Hamiltonian operators, Gradient operators, Linear Momentum operators, Laplacian operators, Hermitian operators, and adjoints. Past page 23 I have spot read, and it looks like it covers lots of stuff I want to learn.. and I enjoy the cartoons too. Great buy. Many text books cost 10 to 20 times this much.Update: This is the day after. I have spent several more hours reading and working through the given problems. The main event of quantum mechanics is the Schrodinger wave equation, and with this subject you are taught to swim by being tossed into the deep end of the pool. It shows up as an answer to a question exercise on page 38. So this book must be used with other books, with better explanations. I have 5 other books, which seems reasonable for me because I am only doing self study, at 75 years old, I am not going back to college. This is still a good book, but don't expect to depend on only one author.

great book even for dummies

I always hated the titles of the many books for "Dummies" I don't believe in thinking people are dumb they simply have to be taught and guided the right way. But I broke down and bought this book because I badly needed a review as it has been years since I tackled Quantum Physics though I loved it. So this is good to review and to catch up to new thinking of some not so new concepts.

the outline is excellent at presenting the course basics. However, I needed a pre-course reference. I am not a physics major. Only a reader and I was expecting something more basic that introduced me to the math.

Like all the dummy books, it gives basic information that has sometimes been a clincher to getting the question. However sometimes the info is too basic or vague for my university student needs.

I bought this by mistake. I thought it coordinated with the Quantum Physics for Dummies textbook. It doesn't. Return was easy.

Too early to tell just HOW helpful. Bought for my son in class and he seems to think it will help!

Nice book if you have problems with quantum mechanics. Its simple to understand with the step by step approach by the author. Don't hesitate to get one for your library and use, you not gonna regret it.

I have recommended this book to all my students who took a course in quantum theory ..

I haven't gotten that far i to the book yet, however, it reveals the concepta in the usual step-by-step manner.

To master on QM one have to read this book
