Hang bat boxes 10-20 feet above the ground facing the East or South and ensure there is at least 6 hours of direct sunlight. Bats prefer boxes mounted in areas with little flight obstructions and difficult predator access as bats are most vulnerable when entering and leaving their home.

Check construction before mounting outdoors.
One of the screws used to build the box was not put in straight and it sticks out into the area the bats would roost in. I haven't mounted the box yet.

Poor quality
Quality of product is poor and attention to detail is lacking. Screws were crooked and wood was split in two locations. Could see that wood filler was used and cracked and it fell out. Cheap product. Not pleased with the purchase.

Sturdy bat house
My husband has seen a bat in our backyard a few times in the evenings, so I did some research and decided to get a bat box. I chose this one because it was a little bigger than the other I was interested in. It arrived quickly and was ready to put up upon arrival. We’ve had it up for a few weeks. We haven’t seen any bats, but it was worth the try! I’ve heard that it sometimes takes a while for them to move in, so we’re leaving it there and seeing what happens. I’d recommend this bat house.

excellent workmanship
I ordered two bat houses. One was perfect. The other had multiple defects. I contacted the seller and he promptly provided me with another bat house. I highly recommend this product and the seller!

Seems to be good quality
So far this bat house has been holding up since hanging it out above our garage. We have a vapor light that comes on automatically every night, and have a couple bats that are very attracted to the area, so my husband hung the house on the light pole a short distance below the light. It should get good sun, and hopefully keep the hungry bats well fed (with the amount of mosquitoes we have here in NC in the summertime). We've seen them even now in late October, flying around, so we're hoping they're liking the idea of the house, and will bring their friends and family back!!!

Sturdy construction
Looks well built w/screws not nails. Will add a couple coats off dark stain and hang before spring.Only complaint would be that I wish the top was slanted for the rain as it will be installed on a post.

Well-made bat box....but be patient!
No complaints about the box. It is well made, easy to mount, clean, and attractive.I will say, however, that it took us about a year to get some bats IN the box. I know that has to do with a lot of variables, but just be aware.I recommend (obviously) following recommendations about where and how to hang it, but you might also try some pheromone. It ended up working for us.Good luck and happy batting!
