ProTape 3/8" x 50' Auto-Rewind Tape Measure w/ Nylon Coated Blade 45322 (950DCB) 10ths & Diameter by US Tape

Bought this Model 950B Protape 50 footer on Amazon Feb 2019. The web page listed it as the updated version for @ $33.00 vs the older model which is still offered at around $45.00. I looked at both to compare and could not see a difference as far as the more expensive one having more bells and whistles than this one. I could only assume they could make this one cheaper somehow, but just couldn't see the difference between the two. They appeared to be identical . natural I received this tape in the good old fashion two day delivery that Amazon is noted for, which has to be the 8th wonder of the world. I must say the build quality, the heft, and materials is impressive to say the least. I know a lot of loggers use the Spencer tapes, but this tape for the money is spot on. Since I bought this to use logging my own property it will more than suffice and offer years of service I am sure of that. The only thing I noticed that I would like to see modified and may be I am wrong is the tape itself and this is why, but certainly not a deal breaker. I would still have bought this tape. The tape inch numbers both flow in the same direction on either side of the tape, which dictates that the tape measure should be worn on the left hip in order for the numbers to be right side up, and the logger works from left to right down the log. If worn on the right hip the numbers are upside down on the backside of the tape. If this tape came with the numbers going in one direction on one side of the tape and going the opposite direction on the reverse side of the tape, coupled along with an additional triangle hook opposite the one that is already in place one could buy a double snap hook to attach and then wear the tape on the right hip, working right to left. The only other modification that this would require is to have the hook end be a 360 degree swivel which would be easy to do, further allowing left or right hip location of use. Overall I am impressed with this unit .....and it's made in the good OLD USA....try to find anything nowadays that is not made in China. I would recommend this tape to buy 100%. Good luck

I used a stanley geared 100ft for years and went thru them all the time, this thing holds up. I've accidentally crease the tape, it bounces back. I've used it in the rain, snow and mud, it doesn't stop working. Fell off a roof and the only result was some scratches.I leave it in my pouch and let it self wind, usually only has an issue at the last ft.I had my doubts but it really does save me time and frustration.

I use this a lot for work and it does the job! The price is great in comparison to others. This is my second one, as I got the first one stuck ans had to break it off. It lasted about 6 months for me, before my own mistake ruined it. I did find I could buy refill tapes at a local logging supplies store for about the same price as buying a new one. I recommend!

I got these for my team in engineered wood products for use on the lumber yard. They love that they auto retract and are durable....to a degree. Thanks to a lot of rain and busy orders, the tapes were used and rolled back up wet. The tape became brittle and easily broken. Otherwise, even better than the Fatmax.

My user for cutting logs to length automatic real works great

I purchased this tape in July 2023 and in less than a year of use, the hook end of the tape broke off in the spring of 2024. To get this essential tool back in operation, I purchased a replacement tape and installed it per the manufacturer's instructions. That replacement tape lasted 3 days before the hook end broke off again handicapping our timber thinning operations. I cannot recommend this tape for any serious forestry use.

The clip is sturdy. The tape is accurate.

the hook broke after third use while measuring trees to cut logs. Tried to contact the customer service by email on their website and never received an answer back. very disapointed.

Well made case but tape is too thin and very flimsy and in spite of being very cautious it snapped off at the 1" mark when used on the tenth log. Not recommended.
