Perennial Wisdom
I have read a number of books analyzing the Harry Potter books. Most of them were well written and informative. This book is different. It is about Harry Potter, but even more, it's about how Harry Potter shows us many of the teachings of Ancient wisdom and of Perennial Wisdom -- the idea that there is a universal metaphysical truth that runs through almost all religions and spiritual teachings. The author tells us that she may have found more in the Harry Potter books than JK Rowling put in. The underlying richness she finds in the books explains why we like the Harry Potter books so much even if we can't really explain why.

Great Background on the sybolism and meanings
This book showed great insight and if your a historian like me you would like this book. I was instantly hooked when he started to disect each and every little thing. It was facinating to me. If you are a person who just wants a feild guide, this is not the book for you ...But if your like me you want the meaning behind the objects and characters then this is the best fit for you that you could ever find.I am definatley passing thsi to my friends who love hp as well ...

Absolutely Love the Insight
Truth be told, I'm an average learner. I attained a BA in English at a large state University. This book was enlightening for me as an average student, but also as a huge fan of the series. Amazing.

This book gives one another way of looking at the Harry Potter books. It is amazing the insights that are given here in. It was really an eye opener with out being too preachy or religious. Good addition to any HP fans collection.

Seekers Guide to Harry Potter
I originally read the Harry Potter books as they were published and thoroughly enjoyed them and as I enjoy books about books I thought I'd try this one. It is a truly fascinating look at the alchemical symbolism which lies behind the series. It also looks at other symbolism in the stories and goes some way towards explaining the huge popularity of the books. Oddly enough I don't normally enjoy books in the fantasy genre but this series has something more in it than the usual sword and sorcery elements of many fantasy series. This book looks at the archetypal characters which populate Hogwarts and the wizarding world and shows how the good and evil are pitted against each other in a battle to the death. It explains how the books give good examples of how to deal with problems in real life and how with knowledge comes both power and responsibility. Harry doesn't always get it right and must suffer punishment for his mistakes. Many characters aren't just good or evil but a mixture of the two.I found this book totally fascinating and it has prompted me to re-read - or rather listen to - the Harry Potter books again with a new understanding of the symbolism behind them and the way they tap into our culture and the unconscious.

A short review of the Seeker's Guide
Good background to the many varied branches of the Potter experience. Showing how the alchemical formula works in the transformation of Harry.

good book, but not as good as I thought it would be.
The Seeker's Guide to Harry Potter is a good book, but not as good as I thought it would be, because it is an American book and lacks most of the detail about Harry Potter.
