My almost 10 yr old has been wanting a journal for some time. We have looked at loads for her online and I've read all the reviews and done my research. This one although worked out pricier was well worth the money. My daughter loves it. It's 'cool' and has a pretty lock with a design on it and two keys. It's attractive and durable and she runs to write in it all the time. If anything my only complaint is it needs more pages as she writes in it all the time but its a great first diary and has plenty of pages to write in. You won't be sorry you bought this if you have a pre teen. Very happy with purchase! Even the 6 yr old likes it.

This diary is so perfect for a young girl. I bought it for my 12 year old granddaughter for her birthday. I like that it lays flat when open, so it is easier to write. It's so colorful and the little heart-shaped lock is adorable. I think she is going to love it!! I like that the pages are lined, and there is a specific line for the date! Date is so important when writing in a diary. Perfect gift!

I was very disappointed to find out that the lock doesn't work! It took me over 10 minutes to open the book for the first time and I couldn't do it again! I love the diary, the pages, the style... so I went to target and bought a suitcase lock for $3. It fit perfectly and opens easily!! Overrall I am happy with this diary, I just had to put in extra effort to find a lock.

The diary arrived and was exactly as expected and a little better than that. The heart shaped peace sign on the cover was a foam glue on which was not evident in the online pic.The real test was 8 yr old daughter and she was thrilled.Girls love soft, dimensional, pink, sparkley, glittery things. And in this case 60's 70's retro.She locked and unlocked it over and over and over then spent an hour carefully drawing and writing in it.And with a glossy cover She was happy her 2 yr old sister can't ruin the cover and get it open since she has already torn pages out of previous ones without locks, to many tears of course.

My granddaughter asked for her first diary, and this is the one I chose. It's colorful, has a key, and is pretty in pink. My granddaughter said, "This is the thing I wanted most in this world." (She's 5.) She loves it, and that's what counts for me. I also got her some stickers to add some cuteness to the diary pages.

I bought this for my 10 year old sister because little girls love to tell and keep secrets. I thought it was cut when I saw it online, but when it showed up I was so excited! It was better than I though! My sister loves it! She will not let me see what she is writing about, but she is always writing in it. She takes it everywhere with her. This was a very quality product. It was put together well and with strength, I was a little worried about that. My sister has had it for a month now and she is really using it, it is holding up to her backpack and purse abuse.

It is very nice dairy with 3D decorations. Good size for my 8 years old since she likes to carry things around with her. Except that it didn't come with the keys. Very disappointed that I have to exchange it.

I purchased this over the holiday's for a girl who wanted a diary. This turned out to be a wonderful gift.The details are great. I think my personal favorite part is how the lock matches the diary cover. It is fairly easy to open and close and the paper lines are perfect for girls to write with.This made a great gift that is still being used today. A great way to encourage writing.
