I preordered this last year. It arrived few days ago. I am glad I waited for the latest edition. It is a great reference book if you are a DIYer and you want your project meets the code. I am building a staircase from scratch and I found the info I needed in the first few pages of this book.I have a few other code books as well. This book by far has the best picture and is the most enjoyable to read.

I have an older version of this book and bought this one as a gift for a first time homeowner. Whether you are doing the work yourself or working with a contractor, this book will help you understand if the job is being done correctly. It is especially helpful in figuring out if products sold in home centers are actually code compliant.

Up to date and current with building codes

Lots of photos and diagrams. Very easy to understand information, especially for a total novice like me. Not at all too wordy or filled with too much numbers. I started reading it within an hour of receiving it.
