Hello, what mean "power disable"? Can't i use for Nas?

The Power Disable feature provides an easy way to power cycle a drive in order to perform a hard reset.there are 15 pins that make contact with your power supply. It's the third pin that delivers a 3.3V signal that disables the drive. if the HDD does not show up in your NAS You may need an adapter or put a piece of tape on the third pin.

I cannot get these drives to show up in bios or sata expansion card. what piece of the puzzle am i missing? what compatibility am i looking for?

You may need a 4 pin to 5 pin sata power adapter. Something like "sata can send 2 different voltages down the line and one turns off this drive" so you use a cable that doesn't have the 5th wire connected. I don't know all the details on the actual reason, but that adapter should get you there. Pretty sure mine came with one. Same physical connector on both sides, almost looks like a 6" sata power extension.

Is the 1.8% first year failure rate for the original drive? or does is it referring to this refurbished drive

I bought 3 of them 2 of them failed within a month
