Q: Can it recharge (via a portable power bank) and play bluetooth music at the same time?

Yep. I have done that a bunch since purchasing this

Q: Anyone compare sound to an ES100?

This supports aptX Low Latency which reduces lag/delay between video and audio from 200ms to 40ms. Anything more than 50ms-80ms causes noticeable lip-sync issues when watching videos. The EarStudio ES100 does not support this. They teased a couple of years ago that this feature would become available with a future firmware update, however more recently they have changed to saying that it won't.

Q: Can this output line level audio?

Yes it can increase the volume from the source to your speakers or headphones. I use mine in the car connected through my Auxillary input and it gives me about a 30%increase in volume and I have no distortion at all even at max volume. This is an awesome gasget to have!

Q: Btr3: does it make loud indication sounds when turned on/off, when buttons are pressed or battery is low? is it possible to lower these sounds? thanks

It is a little loud to me. The music tone it plays (through the earbuds) when turning on is too loud for me but it does not adjust. It is about four notes so not long, at least. I am extremely sound sensitive. I try to remember to turn it on before putting in my earbuds. The max low and high volume tones are not a problem. The low battery is a voice speaking “low battery” and it startles me sometimes. But none of the tones are things you hear regularly if you take off the earbuds when turning off and on and none last long. I find them annoying but not a huge problem.
