Great price. Great for kids
My daughter has grown up with lots of bedtime reading and at the age of 7 happily and confidently reads by herself now. Having gone through The Wishing Chair books and the Magic Faraway Tree series we made the jump to the Famous Five which my daughter thoroughly enjoyed. The books fuel imagination, and has brought up much discussion about morals, good and bad behaviour. Having stomped through the Famous Five, it seemed that the Secret Seven was the next place to go. I do feel that the Famous Five would have been a better follow up to the Secret Seven rather than the other way round. The chapters are longer in the Famous Five and the kids appear older and more mature than in the Secret Seven.Indeed, the best order of those I have read my daughter would be The Wishing Chair, then the Magic Faraway Tree followed by the Secret Seven and then the Famous Five. That said, my daughter loves the whole series and is happy to read them herself. While the books might seem a little old fashioned, especially regards the use of certain words and language [who uses the word 'queer' to describe something that is strange? Or 'gay' to describe the feeling of being happy?], on the whole, Blyton's books do encourage a child's interest in reading and promotes their imagination as well as their literacy. However,

Excellent stories - and great packaging!
This book set contains a few of Enid Blyton’s amazing books, and definitely does not disappoint readers. It’s catching stories can engage children well, and I personally feel that most ages 7 onwards are up to reading it. One thing though, that I found quite repetitive, was that the stories were often based on the same thing, so some stories were less great than others. Of course though, this can be covered up by some of the other stories. The packaging, as I mentioned briefly, is absolutely fantastic! I have also noticed with the famous five set as well! Sturdy and robust, this card made book holding packaging is very good, and unlike other book sets, is strong for many months to come! Other book sets get destroyed very easily, and soon get tears and what not. But this one has been kept by me for more than a year, and still is fully intact! So overall, do go for the buy! Your child and you will be please by it.

Secret Seven Book Collection
Item as described. No issues with purchase. No issues with seller. Tidy set of Enid Blyton books, for my 9yr old book lover granddaughter. I hope she loves these books as much as I did when I was 9yrs old.

Great value for money
The children loved taking turns in reading the series. I also took some time off to read so I could relive some old time primary school memories.

Books that every child should read.
Once children start to read these books they find it hard to put them down because they are interesting stories that every child finds they can relate to in some way or another. The freedom that shows the part that is childhood and as well as teaching them the right way to deal with things in life, without violence and bad language. The stories are also an escape from boredom with every adventure taking you on a mystery trip.
