Yes it does have instructions however they are poorly translated. The unit seems very good otherwise.

The generator flywheel teeth automatic adjustment feature, is this done while the generator is running or before you start it manually?

The flywheel teeth quantity has to be configured manually via the device configuration menu. Please also note that the controller could be used without the MPU sensor. In this case, the engine speed is calculated using the alternator phase output.
