Wonderful, fascinating and very, very funny.
Surely one of the best books ever by this truly excellent author - very funny indeed and a wonderful nostalgic look back at 1950s America. Also, fascinatingly informative, as are all BB's books. Can't recommend this one highly enough.

Hilarious
My favourite Bill Bryson book. Interesting and informative about America in the 50s and 60s, as well as very funny reading.

Hoity-Toity
Bill Bryson's wry and fond look back at 50s America reminds us how much has changed... and not changed. An interesting take on advertising, TV, super-heroes, childhood, parents, school and girls. What a funny and poignant read. I've now read it twice and laughed, even more, the second time - I had to stop reading to dry my eyes at the tale of the toity jars - so beware of reading this in public!
