Product Description From Walt Disney Pictures, the studio that brought you THE PRINCESS DIARIES, ICE PRINCESS is a hilarious and heartwarming coming-of-age story featuring popular teen star Michelle Trachtenberg (TV's BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, EUROTRIP). Though she longs to become a graceful champion figure skater, gawky Casey Carlyle (Trachtenberg) has always been just a brainy high school misfit. And with a strong-willed mother (Joan Cusack -- RAISING HELEN) pushing her toward a top university, it seems as if she'll never get the chance to be like the elite skating prodigies she sees at the rink. But when Casey uses her head and follows her heart, she'll find herself transformed beyond her wildest dreams! Also starring Kim Cattrall, it's an uplifting and laugh-packed story your whole family will flip for! Review "Ideal family entertainment that doesnt talk down to its audience I like this movie!" -- LEONARD MALTIN, ENTERTAINMENT TONIGHT"Michelle Trachtenberg is charming and believable " -- THE BALTIMORE SUN, CHRIS KALTENBACH"Parents and kids should be heartened to see a G-rated movie that is not dumbed-down or saccharine-sweet." -- USA TODAY, CLAUDIA PUIG"This movie is just about perfect for teenagers " -- ROGER EBERT"Princess is warm and fuzzy, with edge" -- LOS ANGELES TIMES, KEVIN THOMAS P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); Set Contains: Fans of Ice Princess will enjoy seeing the five deleted scenes, even though like most DVD deleted scenes they wouldn't have added much to the film. In fact, the alternate opening (an extended scene that flashes back to Casey's earlier childhood) and a later scene would have undesirably softened Joan Cusack's and Kim Cattrall's characters. Some cut scenes involving Casey and her Snoplow classmates are fun. The two music videos spotlight key songs from the soundtrack, Caleigh Peters's "Reach" and Ally & AJ's "No One," but co-star Hayden Panettiere's "I Fly" is a curious omission. The commentary track follows the Disney trend of featuring its young actors, in this case Michelle Trachtenberg (Casey), Panettiere (Gen), Trevor Blumas (Teddy), and Kirsten Olsen (Nikki, the "Jumping Shrimp"). Film aficionados won't learn that much about the crafting of the movie, but the kids have spirit and talk about the "exploding butt shot" and who already knew how to skate. It can be a little tricky to figure which girl is speaking, though. --David Horiuchi See more
