Nice light, bright, multiple battery options.
I am surprised at how much I find myself using this light. I have a large Dewalt 20v collection and was looking for a versatile small floor/hanging light. I found this and thought the price was right to see if it would work for me. It does! It uses my Dewalt 20v and 60v batteries with no problems at all. I took this to a friends house to do some electric wiring and when the battery I brought died we put one of his Makita batteries on it. It worked perfectly. It was VERY nice to have a light which would work on different battery systems. I think the light output is fantastic (bright). I think the battery life is not as long as it could be but maybe I am getting a little picky. Otherwise I don't regret this purchase at all -- it is a nice addition to my collection.

Fantastic light
I love Dewalt but their smaller lights are pretty bad. I have both of the pistol-grip style lights. The small one (DCL040) is absolute garbage that's basically useless. I have a pen light that runs off two AAA's that's twice as bright. The larger pistol light (DCL043) is better, but I don't like that it has one super bright beam in the middle with uneven circles outside that. It's just really uneven. But this light is absolutely awesome. It's brighter overall than 043, illuminates a MUCH larger area, and absolutely even lighting.I gave this light 5 stars but I'd probably give it 4.5 if I could, only because the little rotating piece that makes it compatible with Dewalt batteries doesn't seem very well supported. It has too much give when I put the battery on, and angles away more than I'm comfortable with. I really wonder about the longevity of this light, especially when I'm lugging it around jobsites or my house.Still, it's cheaper than the Dewalt DCL043 and twice as good, so I'm happy with it.

Excellent area light
I use it for area lighting using dewalt 20v 9ah flexvolt battery. The battery mounting prevents it from rotating properly but has not been an issue, just an irritant. Super bright, could use a dimmer to conserve power a bit and for when ur on the wrong side of it-again-super bright. U will see spots for a few min if u stare into it! Its also nice that it comes with plug in power adaptor for when u want to run without battery

EXCELLENT Light! ..ALMOST DeWalt quality!
First off, this is NOT a DeWalt branded tool. However, it looks almost like one, and is almost worthy of carrying the DeWalt label. This light will use a variety of tool batteries. I have only used it with the DeWalt 20V and FlexVolt batteries. It will run a little over 2 hours with a 3A 20V battery, almost 3 hours with a 4A 20V battery, and over 5 hours with a 6A FlexFolt battery. This throws A LOT of light. I have used it to replace light fixtures around the house and when positioned to bounce the light off a wall or ceiling it throws more than enough light to see what I'm doing in an otherwise dark room. So the light quality and quantity that it puts out is great! While the housing looks like a DeWalt tool, and it is rugged, you can tell that the plastic housing and stand are not quite as durable as DeWalt products. I have not done a drop test or anything, but it still seems very sturdy and durable. This light has two mounting hooks on one side, and a swivel mounting hook on the other. I use it in the garage too and just put a nail in the wall to hang it from so it throws light upward across the wall and ceiling and easily lights up about a 150 sq. ft. area with ease. It also comes with an AC adapter to run the light from when you're close to an outlet. This is what I do in the garage. Now let's talk downsides. First, the light will run until it FULLY depletes your battery, which DeWalt recommends against. The 20V DeWalt tools will shut off before they completely drain the battery as to not damage the battery. So, you'll probably want to check the battery level and turn it off when your battery is down to 1 bar. Second, because it accepts so many different brands of batteries, there are multiple electrical contacts and different installation orientations depending on which brand battery you're using. With the DeWalt 20V and FlexVolt batteries, the battery will hang off one side just enough to interfere with the swivel stand, so the light will not fully swivel with a DeWalt battery installed. And third, as I previously mentioned, the enclosure plastic material is good but I wouldn't say it's "DeWalt rugged"In the end and despite its shortcomings, which are not drastic, this is an excellent light. I wish DeWalt would make a light like this that would output this much light and within this price-point. For the price, I'd say this is a great buy, and I will be purchasing a couple more of them for sure.

Very bright light, shuts off without warning
Bright and very good as a work light or for general lighting . I’ve been using this during a power outage with Dewalt max20v 5x batteries and am really happy with the brightness but surprised at how fast it goes through batteries. Beware! When the battery is low, the light doesn’t dim like with conventional flashlights or lanterns. When the battery dies, the light shuts off without warning, which could be dangerous in some circumstances.

Amazing work lamp with great flexibility!
This light is amazing. Quality is just decent, but brightness is outstanding, and the ability to use any battery you might have around is extremely useful. Can't say how long the batteries last because so far they have always outlasted all my work sessions, which is something. 5/5 would buy again.

Uses almost any popular rechargeable battert
I have only used this light A few times since I received it. So far I am very happy with it. It took me a few minutes to figure out how to insert my Dewalt 20v battery, but now it is fine. The 5amp hour battery lasted most of the day. I have not tried my 60v flex volt battery yet but expect it to work well.My only let downs so far is that there is only one light setting (other than off). But that is very minor and does not really detract from the light. My other let down is that it is top heavy and the base does not really provide very stable support, I'm going to try to modify it with lead.Update - I easily get 5 hrs using 20v 5ah dewalt and 8 plus hrs using 60v 6ah battery.Still need heavier base due to battery weight.
